This independent line was the Greek section of the erstwhile Chemins de fer Orientaux (Ottoman Oriental Company - CO) and this locomotive was the last survivor of the 16 originally obtained between 1888 and 1894 for mainline passenger work. It had been built in Vienna in 1888 by StEG (Imperial Royal Privileged Austrian State Railway Company - Staatseisenbahngesellschaft). From the end of 1953, Hellenic State Railways (SEK) would take over the line and allocate a new identity to this veteran - as Δγ 76 - although no further work was likely found for it.&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;br /&gt;
XK695 was retired to the Imperial War Museum (IWM) Duxford in 1975 having completed flying 8,236 hours in over 3,200 flights. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Because of excessive corrosion, she was dismantled in 1992. Now only the nose and a part of the cockpit are preserved at the &lt;b&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.dehavillandmuseum.co.uk/aircraft/de-havilland-dh106-comet-2r/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow"&gt;de Haviland Aircraft Museum&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/b&gt;  in Hertfordshire, UK.&lt;br /&gt;

In the background, part of the Olympic Rowing Course is visible. This rowing course was constructed in the exact location of the runway of the former Marathon Airfield for the 2004 Olympic Games.&lt;br /&gt;

It was commissioned in 1989 and uses as tallest antenna tower a 250-metre-tall guyed mast with umbrella antenna, the tallest structure in Greece. The site has an area of 650 acres. Nearby there was a transmission site of the US Navy with several shortwave transmitters.&lt;/div&gt;</media:text>
