It is, I think, "Madame Alfred Carriere" - which was introduced in 1879.&lt;br /&gt;
Also, there's some deadwood to prune away and clematis to detach. {plus more work around the door as I've managed to acquire some brambles in with the main clematis stem}.&lt;/div&gt;</description>

It was transplanted in at the beginning of May 2018, after being evicted from a garden in the west midlands, and took some time to get re-established.&lt;br /&gt;
It is deeply fragrant, with a ball / open cup double structure. The pink petals seem to have a tinge of yellow or orange, depending on the light.&lt;br /&gt;
This makes me think it might be "Abraham Darby" which was introduced in 1985.&lt;/div&gt;</description>

As happened several times this summer, I heard the distinctive "buzz" of a large bee working in the roses. After some exploring and careful watching I found her in this barely open flower. Just as well I found her when I did, because she flew off after this one, having filled her leg pouches.&lt;/div&gt;</description>

My usual crop are the standard purple / pink wild variety. I've a few of those as well.&lt;br /&gt;
Many of them will reach just over 6ft (2m) high in their second year.&lt;br /&gt;
This one is already over 5ft [21st June] and has more growing to do ...&lt;br /&gt;
