Poor Pitiful Otis

Otis had a tumor removed from his foot and is wearing the collar supposedly to keep him from getting at the wound. He only had one stitch, but two days after the surgery despite having the collar, he managed to get at it and tear out the stitch while I was watering plants in the greenhouse. Now I will not let him out of my sight until he has had more time to heal. I have been keeping the collar on because it slows him down when he tries to get at the incision, giving me time to tell him no!

Definetly not a happy camper. Taken a few hours after surgery to put a pin in his broken leg. He was a stray, running with a pack of dogs that ran in front of my car. His story is in the description of his album.

Otis had surgery today (and his teeth cleaned). He had a tumor on his back and a small papilloma on his neck. Will not know if the tumor was malignant until the pathology report comes back. I am worried and anxious to know the results. Sigh of relief, it was benign! (IMG_7509)

Because of his leg injury the vet didn't want Otis jumping around until it healed and recommended crating him. He came to like his crate and voluntarily went into it at night until I bought him a bed and let him stay in the bedroom at night. He is so well behaved, I don't even crate him anymore when I leave for a few hours. So now he thinks he too good to be crated and rarely is.
