As part of the 250th Independence Day Celebration in Boston, Massachusetts, 1,300 drones took to the sky for a spectacular show several times higher that the skyscrapers behind them. This small portion of the show features a scene from the Boston Tea Party where locals threw boxes of tea off the ships to protest taxation without representation and the steeple of the Old North Church where the lanterns signaled that the British were landing their troops.

This should be viewed large, which even then does not do justice to viewing it in person.

To celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, Boston added a drone show to its traditional fireworks exhibition. Here, 1,300 drones are swarming off the large barge to get into position for the show.

The Metropolitan Wind Symphony holds an all day concert featuring local community bands as well as bands from other states and from Canada on the second Saturday in June at Faneuil Hall in Boston, Massachusetts.

Sunday Challenge: Take a photo of something that you have in your bathroom. It can be a fixture, a faucet, a soap bubble, an objet d'art, tile or even yourself coming out of the shower, provided that it is family friendly. You can make make it a more interesting photo by shooting it at an angle or shooting only a portion of the object to emphasize its shape. Get creative and show what you can do with a mundane topic.

Our shower surround is made out of frosted, textured glass. This provided an opportunity for an unusual portrait without the need for computer manipulation. My husband was kind enough to consent to be the model.

If you look closely, you can see another elephant inside the carved elephant. This was made in India out of a single piece of soapstone.

It's time to figure out what my next travel destinations will be.

I took all of the above photos spread out over many years of travel. The photos are the Colosseum in Rome, the desert in Morocco, a man in India, Petra in Jordan, Alaska, two elephants in Kenya, the Tower of London, and the pyramids in Giza in Egypt.

Sunday Challenge: Viewpoints make a difference – Take a photo of the subject from above, below and at eye level.

This was a calming photo. The other views were interesting but somewhat unsettling because they did not reflect the way the brain normally processes a stairway and railings.
