I remembered this guy. I had met him somewhere before. But I had &lt;br /&gt;

Here the pilgrims found the relics of Saint Gilles, who he had lived as a hermit in the area together with a hind sustaining him on her milk. King Wamba of the Visigoths shot an arrow at the hind - but  wounded Saint Gilles. Wamba remoresful built  him a monastery in 680 - and the Saint became the first abbot...&lt;/div&gt;</description>

Christ in a mandorla. In the corner the symbols of the four evangelists. Some carvings in Saint-Sernin are very old. There are surely Influenced by artists from the Byzantine Empire, that were often employed, as they were very experienced. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Some of them worked as far north as Paderborn, Westphalia:&lt;br /&gt;

A man of many names died here in 778. Roland, a paladin to Charlemagne, was killed here by the Basques on the return from Spain, having battled the Maurs (muslims) with Charemagne´s armee. To preserve his miracolous sword named Durendal (containing a tooth of Saint Peter) from  heathenly hands,  he threw it over a distance of about 400kms to Rocamadour, where it still sticks in the cliff today....&lt;/div&gt;</description>

ordered to be constructed for the french armee to invade Spain and raid Portugal. &lt;br /&gt;
Now this is -peacefully - converted to the "chemin" for all walking over the Pyrenees...&lt;/div&gt;</description>

All without showing any emotions. This cannot be  "Daniel in the Den of Lions", but it may wll be a "Master of the Beasts"..&lt;/div&gt;</description>

All without showing any emotions. This cannot be  "Daniel in the Den of Lions", but it may wll be a "Master of the Beasts"..&lt;/div&gt;</media:text>

I remember them very well from the 50s. As a little kid, I would put in a coin - and the friendly smiling boy nodded a "Thank You". I was sure, that "Vatican II" - the ecclesiastical council in the 1960 - had banned them..&lt;/div&gt;</description>
