The main attraction, and another new type for me .
The Sukhoi Superjet is a Soviet built medium range regional jet, designed to compete with the likes of the Embraer E-Jets and Bombardier C-series regional jets.
The aircraft is mainly to be found flying within Eastern Bloc countries.
The largest customers outside the Eastern Bloc is Mexican airline Interjet, with a fleet of around 30, Irish airline CityJet, with a fleet of 15 - these are occasional visitors to Manchester, but I have yet to see one - and the Royal Thai Air Force, with 3.
Designated as Sukhoi SSJ100-95, this example is one of the first to be built, and is a VIP version. Here we see RA-89053, operated by Rusjet, arriving at Manchester from Moscow Vnukovo, no doubt in connection with the World Cup football.

This is Sukhoi SuperJet SSJ100-95 RA-89053, a VIP version,operated by Rusjet, moving to the gate at Manchester, after arriving from Moscow Vnukovo, probably in connection with the World Cup football.

Cavok Air Antonov An12B UR-CJN deafens the assembled onlookers as he winds up the engines in readiness for departure from Manchester to Stansted.
The number visible on the tail, 01348006 is the construction number. This example was built in 1971 and delivered to Aeroflot, but has since spent time with various Eastern European freight outfits.

A fair sized crowd usually congregates at the Aviation Viewing Park to see the afternoon departure of the Emirates Airbus A380, but the crowds were bigger than usual on this day to watch the Antonov An124 depart.
In this view from one of the raised mounds, we see RA-82078 of Volga Dnepr sitting on the end of the runway spooling up the engines prior to departure.
