Thank you for taking time to sign this petition to save the Sandhill Cranes in Kentucky, USA from being killed ; we now wait to see what effect this has on the Dept of the Interior in the US - the goal was 2500 signatures - as of the cutoff date of August 1, 2011 - the total was 2736

Please read the call for Gov. Beshear to halt the Sandhill Crane hunt ! It is back in the hands of the Commonwealth of Kentucky ..

on watch is a Sandhill Crane ..
the family is feeding beside this road ..
this photo is cropped for size ..
signed ..
that's IT ..
the other two SHCs are covered by the car ..
probably not speeding ..
but, how would the SHCs get out of the way ..
should somebody veer off the road ?
oh, how I wanted to chase them away from that danger ..
am across the road in a parking lot ..

any suggestions ?
how could I humanely get them to move ..
they need to be afraid of humans ...

Didn't see the youngster ..
But, both of these kept looking over toward the top right corner of this shot ..
Shrubs in that spot; perhaps he was feeding by himself ..

- add about 6 ft back to where my car and I were
- look to the Left of the wheel
- look through the wheel
- that is how close this guy was to the road
- there is a chain link fence behind
- guess the food isn't too good back there
- where they both would be safer

Love my Sandhill [ SHC ] Cranes ..
Just wish they would feed in a safer area ..
