looking east in the church built 1882 by h.roumieu gough and j.p. seddon. one of those few churches that contains little of antiquarian interest, and that little is covered up with screens and loudspeakers as if the congregation would wish it away, and would prefer a modern hall to an inefficient church.

john mordaunt, 1675 by bushnell. the statue has power and movement, but the surround dissipates this somewhat, being too spread out. the monument may have been the work of bushnell with bird; add mordaunt and you have a committee . . .
