#112,400 of the Valentine & Sons United Publishing Co. Ltd., Winnipeg, Manitoba with a "Printed in Great Britain" notation and a stamp box reading "Valentine's Series 23-1". This is an unusual Valentine back for Canada.

I probably already have this somewhere but noted the Consolidated Stationery Co. sign on the side of the Telegram Building, plus the demolition of the building next to it, to allow for the extension of the building on the left, which is now much longer and taller, I believe.

This one interests me because it shows a lot of autos and seems to be from a later date than you'd expect for a Valentine & Sons card in the 103.xxx series. I wonder if it is a replacement for an earlier view with the same title. (Just speculating) [edit 2022 -- very astute speculation!]

This Photogelatine (PECO) back appears to be from the 1930s and incorporates the Valentine logo. I was unaware of this collaboration before (or co-branding or whatever it was), but I don't generally collect much from this era.

This is a Valentine's Series card from the British Valentine company rather than the Canadian. The Manitoba shield opens out to reveal a long strip of miniature monochrome images (12 in all) showing scenes in Manitoba. These appear mostly to be common Valentine & Sons card images.

The poetic lines are from the opening of the second verse of "O Canada!" (now the national anthem).

Is the placement of the two signs at right and left accidental? They actually appear to be some sort of box, like a small mailbox or, perhaps more likely, a refuse container. I suppose that advertising space was sold on them, whatever they are. They didn't miss many chances to slap advertising on things in those days.
