At the start of the 20th century this infamous city didn't even exist, and whoa, daddy! Just look at us now. With a worldwide reputation to uphold, Vegas is the place for any kind of grown-up diversion you bet you won't find anywhere else. The city has cleaned itself up quite a bit since the early days of Mob domination, but don't believe the hype that this is a family place, 'cause it surely ain't. Considered the #1 fantasyland destination for adults, Vegas is a place that exists primarily for gambling, unless you count quickie drive-thru marriages also arranged here. Excalibur is situated at the Tropicana - Las Vegas Boulevard intersection. The intersection is so busy that pedestrians are not allowed to cross at street level. Instead, Excalibur is linked by overhead pedestrian bridges to its neighboring casinos to the north (the New York-New York Hotel & Casino, across Tropicana Avenue) and to the east (the Tropicana Resort & Casino, across the Strip). There is also a free tram that connects Excalibur to its sister MGM Mirage properties to the south, the Luxor and Mandalay Bay hotel and casinos. The three casinos are also connected to each other, so it is possible to walk between the three of them without having to go outside.

The Excalibur opened on June 19, 1990 originally built by Circus Circus. It was one of many new, modern Las Vegas hotels that featured children's attractions, such as an arcade and a motion simulator called Merlin's Magic Motion Machine. Another feature of the Excalibur that is prominent in many of today's Las Vegas hotels is a large family swimming pool.

Nothing says Vegas better than Caesars Palace. The Romans would be proud of the beautiful rooms, heavenly pools, breathtaking shops, gourmet restaurants, world-class entertainment and one of the hippest nightclubs in town. Also, the Colosseum looks better than it has in centuries.

The Palace opened its doors in August 1966, and although much has changed since then, the essentials remain the same: unsurpassed service, royal surroundings and entertainment maximus.

The open-air home of Siegfried & Roy's Royal White Tigers is available for public viewing throughout the day and evening. Siegfried & Roy have dedicated their lives to preserving these rare animals, and their efforts have helped save them from total extinction.

A perfectly matched pair of these beautiful animals were bequeathed to this country in 1958 by the Maharaja of Rewa. In turn, Siegfried & Roy were able to secure two offspring, establishing their own Royal White Tiger breeding line.

Unlike conventional tigers, which have black and gold markings, the white tiger is white with black stripes, pink paws and ice-blue eyes. The purest of these animals are snow white and have no stripes.

The White Tiger Habitat contains many features designed to enhance the comfort of the animals and provide spectacular viewing for guests. The open-air environment features a swimming pool with fountains and simulated mountain terrain for the tigers' enjoyment and the public's entertainment. The facility's white setting gives the animals a sense of security by allowing them to blend into the background, and special slanted glass affords better viewing, eliminates glare and helps control the temperature.

The Royal White Tigers are rotated continuously in and out of the facility throughout the day. When not appearing in the Habitat, they enjoy their own spacious living environment and can be seen in the lush tropical environment of Siegfried & Roy's Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat.

Here's another one that I'm unsure whether it is still there now, but this sculpture/ tableaux was found somewhere near the restaurants of the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas, way back in 1992. There was a mural nearby showing a Mediterranean village, and an archway with floral decoration nearby.

If anyone knows what the name of the restaurant was, or the significance of the woman coming home with her bread, I'd appreciate it. :)

I shot it with the Minolta Zoom 90, the camera I had when I was in high school. (Yup, I was about 17/18 when I took this.)

I'm unsure if this is still there now, but this sculpture and garden was found somewhere near the lobby of the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas, way back in 1992.

I shot it with the Minolta Zoom 90, the camera I had when I was in high school. (Yup, I was about 17/18 when I took this.)
