The Knotty Heritage train rests at Dilhorne, HL No.2 will shortly 'run round' the train and head off back to Caversall Road. NSRs 61, 127 and 23 - the accessible brake is at the rear.
Before that can happen, I'll need to shepherd myself and the other photographers back onto the platform.

Lifting the wrapper for the post delivery inspection was made easier with assistance from the wind, covered up again with a little more difficulty.

Even before we had really finished inspecting the coach after delivery, Mike had taken the first door off to start the overhaul process (He does have eight to do!).

The work on the first of eight doors has now reached the first primer coat.
Note: the wider waist panel compared to NSR127, and the hood to the door top ventilator.

The rails at front of the seats were held in with nails, not iron but wood. These go by the title of "trenails" - much larger examples can been seen in old roof trusses (king post types) and some older marine applications (think "wooden walls" - also spelt treenails)

The team have been hard at work, attending to a number of mainly minor repairs to the structure. These are nearly completed, as it has been much easier working at this height.

Removing the roof planks, these date from when 61 was used as a waiting room on the platform.

several layers of paint. etc have been removed from the grooves in the interior matchboards. Some sanding has removed loosely attached paint layers.
