Ones with D in front are diesels, the rest are steam. Some of each also have names. These were at that time only given to engines primarily used for passenger express trains. This was the period of transition from steam to diesel. By the end of the 1960s steam engines had been phased out. The small letter/number combinations in the centre of the page showed to which motive power depot each engine was allocated. Barrow Road was one of two major MPDs in Bristol. It served the lines running to the midlands and north. The other was the former Great Western MPD at Bath Road, near the principal Bristol station at Temple Meads.
These pages come from Dad's neatly kept log books, which he wrote up at home, from the notes he made on his journeys.

The rounded end profile of one of the bodies, seen on the left of all three photos, makes me wonder about that. The square framing of the rows of four windows is similar to a photo I have seen of a carriage on the Rye & Camber Tramway, so the bodies on the south and east elevations could be from that local source. I am sure that the history of these old relics has been documented. If I find out more details I will add them here.
One of the properties, along The Ridge, with a railway carriage at its centre, did come on the market a couple of years ago and one could see the rooms made out of individual compartments.
