The locomotive on the return trip was A4 60014 Silver Link. This information was obtained from www.sixbellsjunction.co.uk/50s/530927_1.html
I don't know my father's connection with Michael Brown, but this and the photo of A3 60074 Harvester are in the back of his 1957 - 61 album along with others by a number of photographers. Michael Brown obviously has Yorkshire connections at this time, when we had just moved to Somerset from Ripon, so I guess that they were railway enthusiasts who continued a correspondence after we moved. If Mr.Brown or the current copyright holders of these two excellent photos have any objection to me sharing them publicly, I shall remove them. My email address is in my profile.

The date of this one must be between nationalisation and withdrawal in 1952, following the Dragon Junction accident.
This is a very small print - around 3" x 2" - hence the poor definition when enlarged.
28.6.2013 - HJS log - 5.8.1949 Starbeck - (or 9.2.1952 or 26.8.1952 or 30.8.1952 all at Leeds City or 16.9.1952 at Harrogate. )

This lot will all be in their 70s by now. Anyone recognise themselves?
