They were found in China as early as the 9th century during the Tang Dynasty (618–907)...

The four suits now used in most of the world — spades, hearts, diamonds, and clubs — originated in France in about 1480...

Also in the 15th century, Europeans changed the court cards to represent European royalty and attendants, originally "king", "chevalier" (knight), and "knave". The original meaning of knave was male child (cf German Knabe), so in this context the character could represent the "prince", son to the King and Queen...

Before this time, the lowest court card in an English deck was officially termed the Knave, but its abbreviation ("Kn") was too similar to the King ("K") and thus this term did not adapt well to indices. However, from the 17th century the Knave had often been termed the Jack, a term borrowed from the English Renaissance card game All Fours where the Knave of trumps has this name. All Fours was considered a game of the lower classes, so the use of the term Jack at one time was considered vulgar. The use of indices, however, encouraged a formal change from Knave to Jack in English language decks.

This child had dropped the tiny fish in the water and his father was explaining that he should have held it just under the water. The dolphins take the fish very gently.

The locals have named these two visiting Dolphins Mystique (male) and Patch (female), members of a pod of frequent Dolphin visitors.

It is a delightful experience to see these wild river/estuarine dolphins willingly coming close to the shore to meet their old friends who host the meeting with these lovely creatures. Every morning around 7-8.30am they can be seen in varying numbers.
The Indo-Pacific Humpback Dolphins have been interacting with residents and visitors of Tin Can Bay for 30 years. It all started with “Scarry” nicknamed due to the numerous rough edges along her dorsal and tail fins. “Scarry” appeared with a young male dolphin, Mystique, believed to be her youngest surviving offspring.
“Scarry” has not been seen since early 2003 but her son Mystique and girlfriend “Patch” still come in to the boat ramp to observe humans and be hand fed.

Indo-Pacific humpback dolphins are referred to as an 'inshore' species as they occur in shallow nearshore waters, often near river mouths, and are rarely sighted more than 1 km offshore. In Moreton Bay they can be found up to 6 km offshore and have also been recorded up to 55 km offshore in the northern Great Barrier Reef where waters are shallow. Their distribution is tropical and subtropical. Key localities in Queensland are Moreton Bay and its adjacent offshore waters, and the Tin Can Inlet of the Great Sandy Strait.
'Kangaroos usually have one young annually. The young kangaroo, or joey, is born alive at a very immature stage, when it is only about 2 cm long and weighs less than a gram. Immediately after birth it crawls up the mother's body and enters the pouch. The baby attaches its mouth to one of four teats, which then enlarges to hold the young animal in place. After several weeks, the joey becomes more active and gradually spends more and more time outside the pouch, which it leaves completely between 7 and 10 months of age.'
