A Vintage Photos Theme Park photo for the theme of winter weather wear -- coats, hats, gloves, scarves, and other cold weather clothing.

A handwritten message on the other side of this real photo postcard says, "This is called Umbrella Rock and on a clear day one can see 7 states from it. Tenn., Ga., Ala., N.C., S.C., Va., and I forget the other."

A boy and a man (possibly the boy's father or grandfather) are standing awkwardly as they pose for a souvenir photo on Umbrella Rock, which is located on Lookout Mountain near Chattanooga, Tennessee. Both of them are wearing coats, and the man is wearing gloves. Cool weather may have caused the fog or haze that's obscuring the view of the valley behind them.

This real photo postcard has a divided back and a type of NOKO stamp box on the other side that suggests a possible date between 1907 and 1929. There's no address, stamp, or postmark on the verso.

Two couples pose for a souvenir photo in front of the Plymouth Rock Portico that houses the historic Plymouth Rock at Pilgrim Memorial State Park in Plymouth, Massachusetts. The architectural firm of McKim, Mead and White designed the granite portico, which was completed in 1921.

A Vintage Photos Theme Park photo for the theme of historic sites.

A snapshot of Plymouth Rock at Pilgrim Memorial State Park in Plymouth, Massachusetts. The historic rock is "the traditional site of disembarkation of the Mayflower Pilgrims who founded Plymouth Colony in December 1620," as Wikipedia describes it.

Although the sand, bars, and stone walls visible in the photo make the rock's enclosure seem rough and stark, it's actually surrounded by a grand granite portico designed by the architectural firm of McKim, Mead and White. Handwritten note on the other side of this real photo postcard: "Von meinem Geburtstagsausflug an die Triberger Wasserfälle, 12. Sept. 1936." (Translation: "From my birthday outing to the Triberg Waterfalls, 12 Sept. 1936.")

The names of "Mr. & Mrs. Vogal, Pforzheim, Germany" are written in a different hand where an address would go. There's no stamp or postmark, however, so I wonder if the Vogals are the couple in the photo.

As Wikipedia explains, the Triberg Waterfalls "are waterfalls near Triberg in the Black Forest in Baden-Württemberg (Germany). With a descent of 163 m, it is one of the highest waterfalls in Germany and a landmark in the Black Forest region."

This is a real photo postcard showing the silhouette of a lone man at the top of the overlook known as Lover's Leap. Below the rock outcropping is the Cumberland Narrows, a water gap through the mountain. Wills Creek, the National Road (U.S. Route 40), and railroad tracks run through the Narrows.

A summer vacation/holiday photo for the Vintage Photos Theme Park.

Pen Mar Park, an amusement park and resort area located in the Blue Ridge Mountains along the Mason-Dixon line separating Maryland and Pennsylvania, was a popular summertime destination in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. In this photo, a group of men and women pose at the base of the three-tiered High Point observation tower located a couple of miles away from the amusement park (see also the full version of the photo).

A postcard view (below) shows all three levels of the observation tower. Visitors to the amusement park could also get their photo taken in front of a painted backdrop of the High Rock tower (see below).

A photo of hikers from the Victorian era or another time period for the Vintage Photos Theme Park.

A real photo postcard with a handwritten note: "Taken in Sages Ravine, Mass. Helen Allison."

Curiously, although the photo was taken in Massachusetts, the address on the back of the card is "Mrs. A. G. Briggs, Grundy Centre, Grundy Co., Iowa," and the postmark is "Saegerstown, Pa., Aug. 18, 1906."

A snapshot captures a glimpse of a boy's head and hat in front of the statue of Union Army General Gouverneur Kemble Warren at Little Round Top on the Gettysburg Battlefield.

The plaque at lower left in this photo provides some information about General Warren:

Led to this spot by his military sagacity on July 2nd, 1863 General Gouverneur Kemble Warren, then Chief Engineer of the Army of the Potomac, detected General Hood’s flanking movement, and by promptly assuming the responsibility of ordering troops to this place, saved the key of the Union position.

Promoted for gallant services from the command of a regiment in 1861, through successive grades to the command of the 2nd Army Corps in 1863, and permanently assigned to that of the 5th Army Corps in 1864, Major General Warren needs no eulogy. His name is enshrined in the hearts of his countrymen.

This statue is erected under the auspices of the veteran organization of his old regiment, the 5th New York Vols. Duryee Zouaves in memory of their beloved commander.

Dedicated August 8th 1888.

A man and a woman pose for a souvenir photo next to a statue of a famous general—Gouverneur Kemble Warren—at a famous landmark—Little Round Top—on a famous battlefield—the Gettysburg Battlefield.
