A press brought in after the Second World War, so the silver industry could start again. Now a monument. It was in use until 1995 to produce silver cutlery.

The original dates from the 13th or 14th century. It had rebuilding work in 1658 and it was restored in 1927–1934.

Schoonhoven had a Jewish community since the middle of the 18th century. The community declined from the late 19th century. Just before the Second World War there were hardly any Jews in Schoonhoven. Those who remained were taken away by the Germans. More info (in Dutch):
