A Vintage Photos Theme Park photo for the theme of mothers and babies.

A mother poses for a photo with a baby in her lap and a young son sitting in the chair next to her. The baby's face is a little blurry since it moved as the photo was taken. Note the elaborate pattern of the wallpaper in the background.

This comes from an unused divided-back real photo postcard without a stamp box or postmark, and I don't have any other information about its date or location.

A Vintage Photos Theme Park photo for the theme of infant adoration (babies with those who love them) .

This is an unused real photo postcard with a nicely lit portrait of a doting mother and her young child.

The Azo stamp box (with four corner triangles pointing up) printed on the other side indicates that the photo may date to sometime between 1904 and 1918.

A fashionably dressed mother with a gentle smile poses for a picture as she holds her baby, who's staring in wide-eyed astonishment at something off camera.

This is an undated real photo postcard from Paris, France (based on a partial address—Ave. de Neuilly—stamped on the other side).

A photo from Budapest for the Vintage Photos Theme Park in memory of our dear friend, Nori (see Sad News).

A mother and her two daughters posed for this cabinet card photo in the Budapest studio of Elbl and Pietsch sometime after 1897 (see below for the back of this photo). Note the girls' unique hairstyles and their fashionable dresses with enormous leg-of-mutton or gigot sleeves.

The painted backdrop is somewhat indistinct but what looks like the bottom of an elaborate staircase appears on the left. The chairs are made of bamboo (or perhaps faux bamboo) and are decorated with tassels.

As one girl sits in a chair holding a book, the other girl stands with one hand resting in a comforting gesture on her mother's shoulder. Her other hand is holding some flowers alongside the arm of her mother's chair.

So let's remember dear Nori and cherish the treasured images she has shared with us here on Ipernity and over on Flickr. Perhaps you'll want to compare this photo with the dozen other photos and backmarks from the same studio that Nori collected in her Elbl & Pietsch album on Flickr.

A creepy infants or children photo for the Vintage Photos Theme Park.

At first glance, this real photo postcard seems to show a nice family pleasantly posing for a picture on a porch. Upon closer examination, however, there seems to be something peculiar going on (mouse over the image above to see a close-up of the two children).

The little boy--there's no identifying information, but let's call him Damien--appears to be holding a claw-shaped can opener in his hand, and he's staring directly at the camera with a creepy, almost evil look on his face. His sister, in contrast, seems to be clutching oddly at her neck, as if she had a sudden stabbing pain in her throat.

Now, I'm really not sure what little Damien was doing with that sharp can opener. I just hope that the photographer was able to get away in time.

Happy Halloween!

Restless kids dressed in their Halloween costumes pose for the photographer in order to demonstrate their participation in the Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF fundraising program, which has been taking place since 1950 (I'm guessing that this photo may date to the 1960s). The mom and dad are placing coins in the UNICEF collection boxes that the kids are holding.

It looks to me like the kids are impatiently enduring this interruption to their evening of trick-or-treating (the girl in the center, who's grudgingly holding a collection box with her arms crossed, seems to be barely tolerating the situation). And the forced smile on the mother's face is certainly different from the pleasant expression on the father's--he seems to be the only one who's actually getting into the spirit of things!

A real photo postcard for the Taylor-Tot Stroller Vintage Memories group.

A street photographer evidently snapped this photo of a sailor and his family as they walked past a W. T. Grant Co. store in some unidentified town. The sailor and his wife seem surprised--and perhaps even annoyed--by the photographer, but their daughter seems to be excitedly holding on to a toy as she enjoys the ride in her Taylor-Tot stroller.
