One of the few things I like about winter is the way a low sun casts long shadows. I snapped a photo of the intriguing shadows of tree branches over new fallen snow in my front yard. I played around in PicMonkey to heighten the effect.

An experiment with light and shadows on new fallen snow. Since my usual favorite subject matter has gone asleep for the winter, I have been looking at such things as snow and the low position of the sun in a whole different way. As a result, a new world has been unlocked for me.

Last winter I had ample opportunity to snap some interesting photos of tree shadows on snow-covered ground. When I came across this image in my photo archive, an Enya song titled "The Memory of Trees" came to mind. It also happens to be one of my favorite melodies. Enjoy!

Saturday Self-Challenge: Curves

There was such a wide variety of choices for this topic since most objects have some sort of curve to them. I decided to take advantage of the sunshine coming through my living room window and do something interesting with this old bottle.
