➽ Einstein-Brunnen:
Die Bronzeguss-Plastik des Bildhauers Jürgen Goertz auf dem Gelände des historischen Zeughauses in Ulm wurde 1984 erstellt und erinnert an den berühmtesten Sohn der Stadt.
Die Plastik besteht aus drei Elementen: Der Raketenstumpf steht für Technik, Eroberung des Alls und die atomare Bedrohung. Auf diesem Sockel sitzt ein großes Schneckenhaus, welches als Gegensatz die Natur, Weisheit und Skepsis gegenüber menschlichem Beherrschen der Technik darstellt. Aus diesem Schneckenhaus quillt der Kopf Albert Einsteins mit schelmischen Augen und spöttisch herausgestreckter Zunge.

The bronze cast sculpture by sculptor Jürgen Goertz on the grounds of the historic armory in Ulm was created in 1984 and commemorates the city's most famous son.
The sculpture consists of three elements: the rocket stump stands for technology, conquest of the universe and the atomic threat. On this pedestal sits a large snail shell, which in contrast represents nature, wisdom and skepticism about human mastery of technology. Out of this shell, the head of Albert Einstein swells with mischievous eyes and mocking outstretched tongue.

➽ Das Fischer- und Gerberviertel liegt im Südwesten der historischen Altstadt von Ulm. (siehe auch klickbares PiP)
Entstanden ist es wohl nach der Stadterweiterung von 1316. Geprägt wird es von vielen gut erhaltenen Fachwerkhäusern, in denen Handwerker im Mittelalter ihre Leder gerbten und zum Trocknen auslegten.
Hier sieht man die Häuslesbrücke, an deren Ende links das „Schmale Haus“

It was probably created after the city expansion of 1316. It is characterized by many well-preserved half-timbered houses, in which craftsmen in the Middle Ages tanned their leather and laid out to dry.

Die Brunnenanlage am Heiner-Metzger-Platz in Neu Ulm - entworfen von Atelier H. Dreiseitl - wurde 2004/5 realisiert. Bis zu 15m lange Edelstahlrohre kreuzen die Wasserbecken, gehalten von schräg stehenden Rohren. Diese dienen auch der Wasser und Stromzuleitung. Die rohrartig gestalteten Überlaufkästen mit integrierter LED Beleuchtung verteilen und beruhigen das Wasser, welches an X-Tend Edelstahlseilnetz von Carl Stahl in das Brunnenbecken geleitet wird. Ein Windsensor schaltet die Anlage bei zuviel Wind ab. Eine choreographische Steuerung steuert die verschiedenen Wasservorhänge. Mal ist Durchsicht und mal nicht, der Raum wird geteilt und wieder verbunden. Die Kinder haben großen Spaß daran, die Netze so zu schütteln, dass das Wasser herabspringt und plötzlich für einen kurzen Moment wieder Durchsicht da ist.

The fountain system at Heiner-Metzger-Platz in Neu Ulm - designed by Atelier H. Dreiseitl - was realized in 2004/5. Up to 15m long stainless steel pipes cross the pools, held by sloping pipes. These also serve the water and electricity supply. The tubular overflow boxes with integrated LED lighting distribute and calm the water, which is led to the well basin by Carl Stahl's X-Tend stainless steel cable net. A wind sensor switches off the system if there is too much wind. A choreographic control controls the various water curtains. Sometimes is transparency and sometimes not, the space is splitted and reconnected. The kids have a lot of fun shaking the nets so that the water jumps down and suddenly there is a moment of transparency.

➽ Das Schiefe Haus ist ein spätgotisches Fachwerkhaus im historischen Fischerviertel von Ulm, das eine Neigung von 9 bis 10° aufweist. Das ursprüngliche Fachwerkhaus aus dem 14. Jahrhundert hat 1443, nach mehrfachen An- und Umbauten, sein heutiges Aussehen eines fünfgeschossigen Hauses erlangt.
Mit seinem südlichen Fundament direkt an der Blau gelegen, ragt das Haus ab dem ersten Stockwerk, dank schräger Verstrebungen, teilweise über den Fluss. So konnten dort Boote geschützt anlegen. Im Laufe der Zeit senkte sich die zum Fluss gelegene Seite des Hauses stark ab, so dass bereits Anfang des 17. Jahrhunderts Stützmaßnahmen eingeleitet werden mussten.
Nach mehreren Besitzerwechseln wird das Haus seit 1995 als Hotel genutzt. Die dafür erforderlichen Sanierungsarbeiten sicherten die Statik des Hauses, ohne die Neigung zu ändern. ➽ The crooked house is a Late Gothic Tudor style house in the historic fishing district of Ulm, which has a tilt between 9 and10°. The original half-timbered house from the 14th century has attained its present appearance of a five-storey house in 1443, after several extensions and alterations.
With its southern base located right on the rivulet Blau (blue) the house protrudes partly over the river thanks oblique struts starting from the first floor. So there was a protected boat launch.
Over time the river side of the house tilted extremely, so that support measures had to be started already at the beginning of the 17th century.
After several changes in ownership, the house is used as a hotel since 1995. For this purpose were required renovation works, which secured the structural condition of the building, without changing the tilt. Die Zill blickt auf eine sehr bewegte Zeit zurück. 1851 wurde das Gebäude erbaut und ist schon deshalb ein besonderes Kulturdenkmal. Erst war dort eine Seifensiederei untergebracht, bevor 1877 erstmals eine Konzession für eine Gastwirtschaft erteilt wurde.
