A difficult species which does not appear in any of the references which I've checked so far. My guess is that it is likely to be a Geometrid in the Sterrhinae sub-family, but there are no clues yet. A single dead specimen was found in the hollow of one of the UV lamps used on the light trap.

There seems to be some confusion as to the Genus, but consensus on synonyms is that the first above is now accepted. No confirmable species has been found which matches this insect above, but my guess is that it is possibly of one or other of this Genus. A single dead specimen was found in the hollow of one of the UV lamps of the light trap.

Although the two species can only be really determined by a genitalia determination, it is indicated that insects larger than 36mm wingspan is likely to be the latter. However, M. orbifera is more commonly distributed along the Antilles, so is perhaps the better ID. A single specimen was found in the hollow cavity of one of the UV lamps.

Another difficult species, which cannot be positively confirmed. Searching and pattern comparison has suggested that it is a member of the Litoprosopus Genus, possibly L.haitiensis, but no species illustrated fully match this specimen. Although the inner parts of the hindwings show a grey colouration, this seems to be an iridescence activated by the flash on the camera as visual inspection shows it the same black, as the outer areas. None of the species investigated has forewings with such a distinct light pattern, although this might be just a variant from the normal species, which-ever it is. Specimens of L.haitiensis although similar in hindwing markings, are shown as generally pale brown with only slight patterns on the forewings, although this may be just that the reference specimens have faded.
