These Dianthus are nicely scented, and make a nice splash of colour.
Planted in a small hanging basket to make them easier to look at.

The clematis - an old variety, with quite small, pink flowers - has produced quite a show this year. That is despite me giving it quite a thinning out a few months ago.
It is very attractive to bees, as are the brambles - grown so I know that they haven't been sprayed with anything noxious !

Bought and planted out a few plants into the "pretties pots" - I suppose you could say "Spring Bedding"

I could add a few more flowering plants later in the month, technically we *could* still get a late frost ...
I will, probably, add a row of smaller pots at the front. I might re-arrange the pots again, depending on how the existing contents grow. The fence at the back makes a good windbreak.
The brick edging is because as the soil is very soft, the lawn tends to break away - and it allows me to build up the soil in flower beds.

Just one of the drifts of snowdrops showing that it is spring here.
There are several large patches of naturalised Galanthus on the garden - after flowering has finished, a few more will get moved into the wildwood.

Very Sadly, the shop & the nearby cafe is closing shortly, another victim of a landlord deciding not to renew leases. This time at Lanercost.

This is the powdery remains of a tree stump - or a branch, I think of beech - that was used to support an interpretation panel [map] for a local footpath. Currently, very little is left and the local birds have shredded it while searching for grubs. Surprisingly, no fungii !

The weather has been sunshine & showers - just right for plumping up and ripening the blackberries !
I've had a couple or three serious picking sessions, and then cooking / straining which has resulted in several pints of juice and that has been transformed into jars of bramble jelly ...

A vintage metal garden sprinkler - the first time we tested it, we managed to launch the pivot / spindle some distance into the air.
I would say it is quite effective, working in a circular pattern. Also, you can hear that it is working.
The lettering on the far side reads "British Made" but I can't quite decipher the near side.

Bought as part of a batch seedlings from a supplier of pet food etc - and I really do not remember exactly what I had bought.
