Some examples of Arriva the Shires publicity material for services around Milton Keynes. The credit card sized fold up timetable is for service 7 (Bletchley-Central Milton Keynes-Wolverton) which is operated by electric powered Wrightbus Streetlite buses. The larger leaflets feature a variety of different styles in A5 format.

The fold up timetable for Arriva the Shires service 7 (Bletchley-Central Milton Keynes-Wolverton) which is operated by electric powered Wrightbus Streetlite buses. By coincidence the bus pictured in the timetable is that on which I rode and photographed during my visit. When folded the timetable is rather like a chubby credit card.

Thursday 1 September 2016 (1035) – Two Arriva the Shires buses in Lower Ninth Street, Milton Keynes. Left is 3767 (MX12 KWV), a Wright Pulsar bodied VDL SB200 new in July 2012, and right is 3511 (KE51 PUY), a Wright bodied DAF new in January 2002. I have seen reference that when brand new 3767 was assigned to Olympic Games work in London before joining the fleet of Arriva North West/Merseyside.

The double decker is 5466 (SN15 LPV), an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro400, which wasn’t working the Oxford to Aylesbury service 280. Today is was well away from that service and working the X60 from Aylesbury.

Thursday 1 September 2016 (1003) – Despite carrying branding for service 6 Arriva the Shires 3770 (MX12 KWZ) was actually operating on service 300 when seen at Milton Keynes Coachway. It is a Wrightbus Pulsar bodied VDL SB200 new in July 2012 originally in the Arriva North West/Merseyside fleet (numbered 3110). I have seen reference that when brand new some of the buses subsequently assigned to Arriva North West/Merseyside had initially been on Olympic Games work in London.

Thursday 1 September 2016 (1021) – Arriva the Shires Mercedes-Benz Citaro O 530 single deckers seen on Midsummer Boulevard in Milton Keynes. Both carry MAX branding. 3908 (BU06 HSN), which dates from August 2006, was specifically branded for the Aylesbury to Milton Keynes service 150 via Leighton Buzzard and was working the 1012 service from MK railway station (due from here at 1020).

Thursday 1 September 2016 (1240) – Arriva the Shires 3927 (BG59 FCX) seen in Midsummer Boulevard, Central Milton Keynes. It carries branding for Milton Keynes Platinum service 300 which links the Railway Station with Milton Keynes Coachway/Park and Ride continuing to either Woburn Sands or Magna Park. This trip was bound for the former. A Mercedes-Benz Citaro O 530 new in January 2010 to MK Metro, a then subsidiary of Arriva the Shires.
