A Vintage Photos Theme Park photo for the theme of making mischief -- the photographer or the subject being mischievous.

Message (punctuation added): "Hello, how are you getting along? You can easy see mischief on this. J.C.A."

In this photo, the mischief that is easy to see is the result of one woman holding a clump of snow as if she's going to push it into another woman's face. The second woman is grabbing the first woman's arm to prevent her from moving the snow any closer.

This is a real photo postcard with an undivided back. It's addressed on the other side to Mrs. T. A. Camer, Jamison City, Pa., R.F.D. The stamp bears a cancellation but there's no postmark with a visible date or location. A penciled notation -- probably added by a postcard dealer -- indicates a date of 3/28/06, though I'm not sure where that came from.

A Vintage Photos Theme Park photo for the monthly topic of family gatherings for Thanksgiving or other occasions.

A family pauses for a photo before they dig in to their Thanksgiving dinner. Despite the turkey, pies, and other dishes on the table, my eye was drawn to the kerosene lamp hanging from the ceiling, the elaborate design of the wallpaper in the background, and the cylinder phonograph hidden in the shadows on the sideboard. This is a real photo postcard with a divided back (introduced in 1907) but no stamp box, address, or message.

At first glance, this is a typical photo of a woman sitting on a chair. In the background, however, is a girl watching from the window, which seems a little spooky.

This is a real photo postcard with a divided back. "R. B. Hunter, LisbellAw" is stamped in ink on the other side, but the card is otherwise unused. Could "LisbellAw" refer to the village of Lisbellaw in Northern Ireland?

Mama cow and baby calf seem to be giving the photographer a sideways glance as the farmer and his family hold them in place to pose for the camera. See a cropped version for a close-up of the disgruntled bovines.

The decorative mask--with its stylized flowers and curled-up edges--gives the appearance of a fancy photo frame. For a similar real photo postcard, see Man's Portrait in Elaborate Border.

With an elaborate border consisting of an eagle, flag, canons, bombs bursting in air, and other patriotic and military symbols, it's surprising that this real photo postcard features an image of a child rather than a soldier.

Printed on the other side of this real photo postcard: "White House Photo Parlor, W. H. Burnham, Prop., 25 Clinton Ave., Cortland, N.Y."

A portrait of a young girl with glasses. Her dress has a lacy collar, she has a bow in her hair, and she's wearing a necklace and a lapel watch with chain.

The type of Azo stamp box (with four corner triangles pointing up) printed on the other side suggests a date that may be as early as 1904 to 1918.

Compare the oval border of this photo with the one used for Man's Portrait in Elaborate Border.

A Vintage Photos Theme Park photo for the theme of swings and hammocks.

This is an unused real photo postcard with an Azo stamp box on the other side (four corner triangles pointing up) that suggests a date that may be as early as 1904 to 1918. A barn and other farm buildings appear in the background of the inset photo of a man and woman posing on a hammock. The surrounding scene of a house on a lake doesn't quite fit with the agricultural setting of the photo.

A Vintage Photos Theme Park photo for the theme of a real humdinger - a photo apparently intended to show off the appearance of a person or thing.

Handwritten message on the back of this real photo postcard: "Dec. 25 '08. Merry Christmas, Josie." The card is addressed to "Mrs. Elizabeth Taylor, Salem, Ohio," but there's no postmark.

Josie spruced up her appearance, donned her flowery hat, and wheeled her bicycle to a photo studio, where she posed in front of an elaborately painted backdrop for a picture worthy of sending out as a Christmas greeting.
