Another "Quarry Hunslet" running along behind the slate museum, this 2ft gauge line is the Llanberis Lake Railway (aka Rheilffordd Llyn Padarn) and the engine seen here is "Elidir"

The museum also has the largest working waterwheel in mainland Britain, which is available for viewing via several walkways. The waterwheel was constructed in 1870 by De Winton of Caernarfon and is 50 ft 5ins in diameter, 5 ft 3ins wide and was built around a 12in axle.

1917 built battery electric locomotive built by Brush of Loughborough (although some other information indicated produced by Siemens).
This type were built for use in munitions factories during the war - this one was used in a mustard gas factory. It was sold off to a quarry in the Blaeanu Ffestiniog area and sold again in 1963 to Aberllefenni Quarry. The NSM acquired it in 2008 with the intention for it to undergo restoration to working order. Another two are still in use on the Hythe Ferry Pier train.

The line shafting is up at the ceiling level, with belts dropping down to power various machines, this seems to be a lathe and to the left a drill / boring machine.

These shallow draft and flat bottomed boats were used to transport slates across Llyn Padarn (Llanberis Lake). Found on the lake bed and raised in 1979.

Information panel describing the flat-bottomed boats - and the example that was recovered from Llyn Padarn in 1979 - that were used to tranship slate from one area to another, in some places that was from land to ships for export.

Vertical "de Winton" steam locomotive boiler. This is from an engine named "Chaloner" that I have had the pleasure of riding behind a few years ago, when it was visiting the Porthmadog area.

Given that this is an inland foundry, I was trying to work out why they have patterns for several types of mooring fairleads / bollards ...

Some of the larger patterns are to be found on as part of this wall-mounted display.

The rectangular, grid-like one is actually for window frames, several of which can be seen in the background of other images.

Nice display of sand moulds as used in an iron foundry.
In this case, the lower half of the mould is exposed - the product will be a wheel, as shown standing on the corner, still with the risers and filler attached.

More detailed view of the two figures in the foundry. The one in the foreground seems to be loading a pattern into his wheelbarrow and the one at the rear seems to be about to tap (draw off) the supply of molten iron.
