Hamburger Rathaus vom Innenhof.

Das Hamburger Rathaus ist der Sitz der Hamburgischen Bürgerschaft und des Senats der Freien und Hansestadt Hamburg. Das architektonisch prachtvolle Gebäude an der Kleinen Alster wurde von 1886 bis 1897 im historistischen Stil der Neorenaissance errichtet. Der Turm hat eine Höhe von 112 Metern und ist neben den Türmen der Hamburger Hauptkirchen eine bedeutende Landmarke im Hamburger Stadtbild.

Das Internationale Maritime Museum Hamburg (IMMH) ist ein Schiffahrtsmuseum im Kaispeicher B in der Hamburger Speicherstadt.
Der 1878/1879 im Stil der Hannoverschen Schule erbaute Kaispeicher B ist Hamburgs ältestes erhaltenes Speicherbauwerk. Er wurde zuletzt als Lager von einer benachbarten Handelsfirma genutzt.
Die Stadt Hamburg stellte die Immobilie der neu gegründeten Peter Tamm sen. Stiftung als Erbbaurecht sowie 30 Millionen Euro für die Sanierungs- und Umbaukosten zur Verfügung. Die Sammlung Peter Tamm besteht aus Objekten zur Seeschifffahrt, deren Kern mehrere Zehntausend Schiffsmodelle bilden und im Jahr 2008 konnte sie in den renovierten Kaispeicher umziehen.

World Photography Day, August 19th, 2025.

Bismarck-Denkmal im Alten Elbpark in Hamburg.

The picture I made from the top of an hotel tower and I went up there by the hotel lift - not really knowing if I could go up there without beeing a guest ; )
I knew this special POV from a former visit since one can have a great view over the Hamburg harbour - my hometown:

I started that day by bike to take a picture for this event, however had at first no idea what object would be suitable. And so I made some shots around this quarter. Only later at home I made the choice for this picture. Its a giant stone sculpture of the former chancellor Bismarck, who of course is a historic figure but nowadays in dicussion concerning his role in Germanys colonial politics and wars.
But I thought the position of the historic sculpture in the style of 1900 would be a good contrast to the modern architecture around. And also that I haven't seen yet photos of this statue from this POV.

Das Hafenklang ist ein Liveclub in Hamburg mit zwei großen Konzerträumen und einer Bar.
Das Haus wurde 1890 erbaut und diente als Stallgebäude für die Straßenbahnpferde der ehemaligen Hamburger Hafenbahn. In den 1970er Jahren hatte sich das Hafenklang als Musikstudio und Künstlertreff etabliert, mit dem ersten 24-Spur-Studio der Stadt.
Udo Lindenberg, Einstürzende Neubauten, Jerry Manga und andere Künstler nahmen dort ihre ersten Tonträger auf.

Im Bild die Felsenwand eines Stausee in Südkorea. Das Land ist zu 2 Drittel von Gebirgen bedeckt, die sich über die gesamte Länge der Halbinsel erstrecken. Das Gestein besteht hauptsächlich aus hartem Granit und verwittert daher sehr langsam (siehe PiP 3)
