Star Flyer and Eurodam in the Pip again. The funny thing is, the chimney of the cruise ship is very similar to the abandoned hotel to the left ;-) In the background AIDAperla ("our" ship) and Celebrity Reflection. Pictures are taken from Queen Juliana bridge.

Die Britannia ist ein Kreuzfahrtschiff der britisch-amerikanischen Carnival Corporation & plc. Sie ist das größte Schiff der unter der Kreuzfahrtmarke P&O Cruises betriebenen Flotte. Heimathafen des Schiffes ist Southampton.Das Schiff wurde 2011 bei der Werft Fincantieri bestellt. Es ist das dritte Schiff der Royal-Klasse. Am 15. Mai 2013 wurde das Schiff in Monfalcone auf Kiel gelegt. Am 14. Februar 2014 wurde das Schiff ausgedockt. Am 10. März 2015 wurde das Schiff in Southampton durch Queen Elisabeth II. getauft. Die Indienststellung erfolgte am 14. März 2015 im Rahmen der Jungfernfahrt mit Stationen in Barcelona, Monte Carlo und Rom bis zur Rückkehr in den Heimathafen am 28. März 2015.

Die Mein Schiff 4 ist das vierte Schiff der Kreuzfahrtgesellschaft TUI Cruises, einem Joint Venture der deutschen TUI AG. Es ist der zweite Neubau des im April 2008 gegründeten Unternehmens. Das Schiff wurde wie bereits die Mein Schiff 3 bei der Werft STX Finland in Turku gebaut, die während des Baus in Meyer Turku Shipyard umbenannt wurde. Bereits bei der Bestellung der Mein Schiff 3 am 27. September 2011 wurde die Option eines weiterer Neubaus vereinbart. Die eigentliche Bestellung erfolgte am 5. November 2012. Baubeginn der Mein Schiff 4 war am 1. September 2013, die Kiellegung fand am 25. Februar 2014 statt. Rund ein halbes Jahr später, am 10. Oktober 2014, erfolgte das Aufschwimmen. Am 20. April 2015 lief das Schiff erstmals zu Probefahrten aus und wurde am 8. Mai 2015 abgeliefert. Die Indienststellung erfolgte am 15. Mai 2015, die Schiffstaufe am 5. Juni 2015 durch Franziska van Almsick in Kiel. Die Jungfernfahrt war im Baltikum und ging von Kiel durch die Ostsee nach Tallinn, St. Petersburg, Helsinki und Stockholm.

Nachdem wir in der Nacht die Straße von Gibraltar passiert hatten, erreichten wir am Morgen des 07. Mai mit unserm Schiff die spanische Hafenstadt Cádiz. Das erste mal in meinem Leben auf dem Atlantik.

Cádiz ist die Hauptstadt der Provinz Cádiz in der Autonomen Region Andalusien in Süd-Spanien mit 116.979 Einwohnern (1. Januar 2018). Die Stadt erhebt sich auf einer Landzunge, die in die Bucht von Cádiz vorspringt. Diese ist ein kleiner Teil des Golfs von Cádiz.

Die Altstadt mit den Vierteln (span. barrios) El Pópulo, La Viña und Santa María steht in starkem Kontrast zu den Hochhäusern der modernen Neustadt. Das Stadtbild wird durch viele kleine Plätze geprägt.

Die Einwohner von Cádiz werden Gaditanos genannt.

Die Puente de la Constitución de 1812, umgangssprachlich auch Puente de la Pepa, ist die zweite Straßenbrücke, die die spanische Stadt Cádiz mit Puerto Real auf der anderen Seite der Bucht von Cádiz und damit direkt mit dem Festland verbindet und den Umweg über San Fernando und die CA-33 im Süden der Bucht erspart.
Sie hat die größte Spannweite aller spanischen Schrägseilbrücken und die drittgrößte in Europa nach der Pont de Normandie in Frankreich und der Rio-Andirrio-Brücke in Griechenland. Sie ist außerdem die längste Brücke Spaniens.

Regal Lady was built by Fellows & Co. Shipbuilders of Great Yarmouth in 1930 to withstand easterly gales with strong bulkheads down below and high free board. She was launched on the morning of 23rd May 1930 and named Oulton Belle.

Entering service in late 1930 Oulton Belle soon became a favourite with her holiday passengers, operating out of Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft on the Norfolk Coast of England. She ran her holiday excursions for the following nine years up until the beginning of the Second World War .

On the 14th May 1940 the BBC made the following announcement:- 'The Admiralty have made an order requesting all owners of self-propelled pleasure craft between 30 and 100ft in length to send all particulars to the Admiralty within 14 days of today, if they have not already been requested'.

These boats then moved along the coast to the Channel Ports. Operation Dynamo began to fall into place. Between the 28th May and 4th June 1940, 337,131 British and French troops were evacuated from the French beaches at Dunkirk.

To commemorate her gallant service as part of this fleet which braved the mines, the E boats and the Luftwaffe, Regal Lady proudly flies the flag of the 'Association of Dunkirk Little Ships' at her masthead.

After the evacuation, Oulton Belle returned to Great Yarmouth for a short period until being posted to the Firth of Clyde as a fleet tender. There she served out the war years transferring United States Troops from the transatlantic lines Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth, after their hazardous voyage.

War years over, Oulton Belle returned to her peace time duties operating out of Great Yarmouth up until 1954 when she was sold to Scarborough Cruises and renamed Regal Lady. She made her first cruise out of Scarborough in late June, 1954.

Over the years since then Regal Lady has taken thousands of passengers for a taste of the sea as she cruises along the Yorkshire Coast, viewing the cliffs at Ravenscar or the Southern headland of Filey Brigg.

She is much changed in appearance since she was launched, but is still a handsome old lady. She will be remembered by the thousands of people who have enjoyed their holidays on board. Most particularly she will be remembered all her life for her gallant service when she went to the rescue of the British Expeditionary Force from the beaches of Dunkirk in the spring of 1940.
