Pembrokeshire Coast Path from St Govans to the Green Bridge of Wales

The classic view of the Green Bridge of Wales sea arch, formed in the upper part of the Dinantian age Carboniferous Limestone Series. The small isolated sea stack to the right is probably the remnant pillar of a former sea arch, now collapsed, which joined on to the main arch pillar.

The flat landform topography represents the '200 foot platform' - a Tertiary age marine erosion surface.

Elegug Stacks are situated just east of the Green Bridge of Wales sea arch. They are probably the remnants of similar sea arches, now collapsed, and formed in the upper part of the Dinantian age Carboniferous Limestone Series.

There are seals visible on the sandy beach below the centre of the photo

I once knew the name of this hand-shaped rock. Alas Google swallowed my notes as well as photos when it murdered Pano!
The craggy granite peaks behind is Cancho de La Bola, home of vultures. I had been up there only 40 minutes before.

Taken from the remains of the landward ramparts of the neolithic coastal fort, known as Crane Castle. The seaward ramparts have long since vanished into the sea.

Adjacent photo is from just behind this rock and shows that I tried to get to the top but from the back route. I achieved it once (before I had a camera or cameraphone), but haven't found the scrambling route since.

This is connected with the next photo, with the climber tackling this massive rock from the other side. I got to the top once, in November 2010 but I haven't been able to find the scrambling route I took and I had no camera or camera phone back then. Here, this was as far as I was happy to go, short of climbing the tree and jumping aross from the top!

Calm sea with very gentle ripples.
See the vertical tin mine shaft on the cliff face. Coastal erosion has exposed it. Its construction probably caused a fault line in the rock which, I hazard a guess here, hastened the erosion!

No climbers tackling this daunting face and even more daunting and enormous overhang today!
No vultures soaring above either, even though I did wait ages. Never mind, eh!
