St Augustine's Kilburn, a Grade I listed Anglican church dubbed the "cathedral of north London." The spire is the second highest in London, after St Mary Abbots in Kensington. The church interior features in the final episode of the Netflix series Black Doves. I was there in the early afternoon on a Sunday during Open House. There was still incense smoke hanging in the air from the morning service.

No admiral ever lived here, but people say this hulk of a house looks like an ocean liner with various decks and outlooks. The house was used as Admiral Boom's house in the 1964 film Mary Poppins. Built in 1700, Grade II listed.

Another classic oxblood tile station, this one designed by Stanley Heaps rather than Leslie Green. Scenes from the movie Paddington Bear were filmed here. The building is Grade II listed.

These terraces are often used as filming locations, particularly as a substitute for Notting Hill. The exterior shots for Line of Beauty were filmed here.

Freston Road goes under the railway here at Lockton Street W10. Scenes from the films Withnail and I and The Lavender Hill Mob were shot here. The arches were used in Rick Astley's video for "Never Gonna Give You Up," which went on to RickRoll fame.

The houses in Roupell Street date from around 1824. The street looks much as it did then, and is often used as a location for movies and tv programmes, including Legend, Pirate Radio, Dr. Who and Call the Midwife.

I've seen this estate in many movies and tv progams -- Prime Suspect, Waking the Dead, Breaking and Entering. They usually involve the cops chasing someone who is jumping down from balcony to balcony.

Day trip to Bletchley Park, where the Brits worked to break the German enigma codes, and pretty much invented modern computing, during WWII. Unfortunately, we couldn't get in to see the interior because there was filming going on -- a movie called The Imitation Game. The mansion house is also seen in the opening of The Bletchley Circle episodes.

Update: I saw The Imitation Game, and they used an entirely different mansion house (Joyce Grove, Nettlebed, Oxfordshire) for the exterior shots, which really makes no sense. But I think some of the interior shots were done inside.

Subterranean loo, Golborne & Bevington Roads. Many of the Victorian loos are now closed. It's particularly rare to find a Ladies' that's still open.

The card and gift shop on the right was used as a restaurant in the movie "Notting Hill."

The Line of Beauty, by Alan Hollinghurst. Notting HIll Gate. Nick and Leo often went to the cinema in NHG, but I'm not sure which of the two (the Coronet or the Gate) it was.
