Along a very nice walk near Painswick in Gloucestershire, the path runs through a country estate. Tocknells Court is a historic and architecturally significant Grade II* listed detached country house surrounded by around 40 hectares of private land, complete with 16th century barns.

It was last sold in 2020 for £4.3M / €5M, so, while delightful, it's a little out of our price range!

L'Allium nigrum est originaire des régions méditerranéennes, d'Asie occidentale et d'Afrique du Nord. C'est une plante qui pousse spontanément en France, dans les champs et vignes du Midi, sur sol calcaire et sec en été. Sa sous-espèce multibulbosum, dont il est question ici, est plutôt répandue au Moyen-Orient : on la retrouve en Turquie, à Chypre, en Syrie, au Liban et en Israël. Très résistante au froid, elle exige une exposition très ensoleillée et un sol ne retenant pas l'eau. Ces plantes appartiennent à la famille des Amaryllidacées.

HBM! The 20 hectare Horsbere Brook flood storage area was created in 2010 following a series of flash floods that affected more than 300 homes in Gloucester. The £1.5m project involved creating a huge ‘depression’ capable of accommodating the equivalent of 70 Olympic swimming pools full of water. If there’s torrential rain the water is now diverted into the depression, and it is then slowly released later.

As well as reducing the risk of flooding the storage area was also designed to be a natural looking ‘wetland’ landscape, and, over the last few years, it has become a delightful local nature reserve – attracting many rare birds to the area. Otters have also been spotted in the brook.

Tits, kingfishers, egrets, heron, swans and a wide range of both rare and more common birds are now regularly spotted here.

Wenn man diese Dinge fotografiert,fangen auch gleich die Gedanken bei einen Shooting an,was kann ich noch machen mit diesen Motiv,nachdem ich zuerst die ganzen Scheiben fotografiert hatte,kam mir die Idee,sie in die Hälfte zu schneiden und eine andere Kreation einer Scheibe zu machen,meine Ergebnisse mit den Nebel und den Lichtern :))

When you photograph these things, your thoughts immediately start flowing during a shoot: what else can I do with this subject? After first photographing the whole slices, I had the idea to cut them in half and create a different slice composition. Here are my results with the fog and the lights :))

Quand on photographie ces choses-là, les idées fusent dès la première prise de vue : que faire d’autre avec ce sujet ? The castle sits upon a steep hill overlooking the Welsh town of Llangollen and today we will see if we are still fit enough to get to the top after having done so some years back. We are about half way up here and looking down the Dee Valley in the direction of Horseshoe Falls. – Yes we made it to the top! See PiP for bottom view.
