Manchmal betritt man einen Raum und spürt sofort: Hier geht es nicht um Antworten, sondern um Fragen. Die Installation im Fotomuseum Winterthur war so ein Moment – schwebende Figuren, zerschnittene Realitäten, Farben, die zwischen Traum und Erinnerung oszillieren. Ich habe sie mit meiner Q3 eingefangen, doch erst in der Nachbearbeitung wurde mir klar, was mich daran so fasziniert: die Zerbrechlichkeit dieser schwebenden Welt.

Nestled in the heart of Brasilia, the Monument Os Candangos stands as a striking bronze sculpture that pays homage to the tireless workers who contributed to the construction of Brazil's capital. Inaugurated in 1959 by renowned artist Bruno Giorgi, this monument symbolizes not only modernity but also the strength and resilience of many laborers, particularly those from Northeast Brazil. They are situated in Praça Tres Poderes or Three Powers Plaza which is a plaza in Brasilia, the capital of Brazil. The name is derived from the presence of the three branches of government around the plaza: the Executive, represented by the Palácio do Planalto (presidential office); the Legislative represented by the National Congress of Brazil; and the Judiciary, represented by the Supreme Federal Court.
The plaza was designed by Lúcio Costa and Oscar Niemeyer as a place where the three powers would meet harmoniously. It is now also a tourist attraction.

This explains far better than me! It also has benches…..and a man who was going to be photographed at any cost….would not leave and kept posing .

Mycene was inhabited already during neolithic and the early Bronze period. During the pre-classical period Mycenae was one of the most important cities in Greece. The Mycenaean culture (c. 1600 BC to c. 1100 BC) was named after it.

Over the centuries the population density increased, and by 1350 BC the citadel and the lower town had a population of 30,000 and covered an area of 32 hectares. At that time the fortifications on the acropolis and other surrounding hills were rebuilt in a style known as Cyclopean because the blocks of stone used were so massive that they were thought in later ages to be the work of the Cyclopes.
Within these walls successive monumental palaces were built. The final palace dates to the start of ca. 1390–1300 BC. Earlier palaces must have existed but they had been cleared away or built over. From 1200 BC onwards, Mycenae began to decline and lost its dominant position. Like all the palaces in southern Greece, the palace at Mycenae was destroyed. The settlement shrank, but the citadel and the lower town remained inhabited. During the Archaic period, a temple to Hera was built on the highest point.

In 480 BC 80 Mycenaeans took part in the Battle of Thermopylae. In 468 BC the Argives conquered Mycenae, deported the inhabitants and razed the walls. During the Hellenistic period, the city was resettled and a theatre was built. After that, the site was only resettled for a short time. In the 3rd century BC Mycenae was abandoned.

The excavations, which were begun in the 1870s by Heinrich Schliemann and Panagiotis Stamatakis, yielded incredible finds, particularly within the grave circles. The most spectacular of which are now housed in Athens, however, the exhibits on display at the Archaeological Museum, which forms part of the site, are also breathtaking.

Kirchner greift in vielen seiner Werke mythologische Themen auf, die er neu interpretiert und so in die Gegenwart überführt.
Die Figur des Prometheus ist in der griechischen Mythologie der Kulturstifter, der den Menschen gegen den Willen des Zeus aus Lehm formte und ihm das Feuer, als Symbol für Erkenntnis und Wissen, auf die Erde brachte. Damit begehrte er gegen die Götter auf.
Kirchner verdeutlicht diesen Konflikt zwischen Himmel und Erde durch die großen Gesten der Bronze.
Der rechte Fuß der Plastik steht auf einem Stein, der an die Strafe des Zeus erinnert: Prometheus musste gefesselt an einen Felsen im Kaukasus ausharren, während ihm ein Adler täglich die sich stets erneuernde Leber aushackte. Das auf dem Stein aufgestellte, linke Bein scheint sich vom Boden zu lösen, um nach oben zu streben. Auch sein rechter Arm, an dessen Hand die Finger zum Himmel gespreizt sind, und der nach oben gereckte Kopf unterstützen diesen Gestus. Allerdings ist Prometheus’ linkes Bein sicher auf dem Boden positioniert und der linke Arm weist ebenfalls nach unten. Dieser Gegensatz zwischen festerVerankerung in der Erde und dem Griff nach den Sternen spiegelt sich auch formal in den langen spinnenartigen Armen und Beinen wider, die in direktem Kontrast zum eiförmigen Körper des Prometheus stehen.

Die Sockelinschrift ist als Aufruf zur Balance zu verstehen. Der Mensch soll ein Gleichgewicht zwischen dem Streben nach Höherem und der Verwurzelung im Boden herstellen.
