A busy day as we had walked the shores of Loch Morar in the morning and now we are at the little village of Arisaig with its tiny harbour where one can take a boat trip to the Small Isles of Eigg and Rum.
In front of us showing its Prominent pitchstone ridge is the profile of An Sgùrr on the Isle of Eigg. Much further than it looks here across the sea loch of Loch nan Ceall into the Atlantic.

The seed heads (from a neighbours garden) are Poppy and Nigella. Taken indoors. The background is a piece of brown card, to which I added a texture and a vignette for a grungy look, to match the seed heads. Natural light helped by a small white LED panel. The vase, wood and stones are from my props box ;-)

Couldn't find much inspiration for a photo yesterday, but I eventually found this small feather (about 60cm long) in my garden. Black and white seemed the way to go!

In the PiP one can see the irrigation of potato fields in the background. Severn Trent, our water authority, has not brought a hosepipe ban in yet. There are deep aquifers underground in Shropshire, but they have advised their customers to be very sparing with hosepipes.

We are not using our hosepipe to water borders as I want to see what plants survive the drought, so that I can give a talk to our local garden club.

I think farmers are exempt because they are providing food for the nation.

How times have changed. This harvest was safely gathered in at the beginning of July, and hopefully the winter storms are not upon for a few months.

As we walked through the deer park of the castle (Bishops Palace) we climb a hill to discover the old Deer House. Described as a rare and well preserved example of Gothic Revival architecture built around 1760. In those days numerous deer roamed the grounds and this building provided a feeding place and shelter for the deer and rooms for the Bishops guest to rest and enjoy a picnic.

All parts of the plant are toxic. The branches are not part of the plant it just grows amongst them the flower stem is about 3ft with large pleated leaves

The Spanish City, now a dining and entertainment centre in Whitley Bay in the North East of England, is referenced throughout the Dire Strait song "Tunnel of Love". At the time of the song’s release, it was a funfair with fair rides and other amusements.

Whitley Bay is also the home of Ann Cleeves, the creator of the crime series "Vera". Several of the murders in that series took place on the beach here.

I am aware that this is not a great photograph technically. However it is interesting for me because I used to live nearby.
