Pam Progress ~~

Hi! Just got this from Jay:

Pam is in the rehab facility, aka skilled nursing facility.

She will most likely be there for the next two weeks. Depending on her progress and what the insurance is willing to do, she may have another stay at an advanced rehab, aka inpatient rehab facility. Skilled nursing is low intensity 2 hours or so of PT per day. Inpatient is more intense with 4 or more hours of PT per day.

The facility is clean and bright with windows that look out on the front lawn. Everyone I met on the staff was friendly and supportive.

Pam is enthusiastic and working with the staff. Her motivation is that she wants to come home.

They are working on bathroom skills, standing, and using a walker.

They had to cut all her hair off because what was left was matted and tangled from the hospital stay.

She is back to talking in paragraphs when 3 or 4 words would answer most questions.

I dropped off her tablet, but she was having some problems. She knows what she wants to do, but she needs to relearn how to drive it. You may or may not get a note from her in the near future.

So thrilled about this .. that red hair will return !

Ils ont dû couper tous ses cheveux parce que ce qui restait était emmêlé par le séjour à l'hôpital Elle recommence à faire des phrases quand 3 ou 4 mots répondraient à la plupart des questions. "J'ai déposé sa tablette, mais elle avait des problèmes. Elle sait ce qu'elle veut faire, mais elle doit réapprendre à s'en servir. Vous pourrez ou non recevoir un mot dans un avenir proche." Tellement excité à ce sujet.que les cheveux roux reviendront!

je suis très heureuse pour PAM ! de son évolution sur le chemin de la guérison !

The Fraeylemaborg originates in the year of 1300 as a strong stone house with thick walls (in the Dutch province of Groningen they were called “borg”). In 1475 there was already a farm with the name “Frealemaheerd”. In the archives of 1504 the name is found of one Remmer Fraeylema.

In the 16th century, the house was expanded and became a moat. From 1670, both wings were added, resulting in a U-shaped building. Through the centuries many powerful families have made the Fraeylemaborg their home. In 1781 the Fraeylemaborg was sold to “Hendrik de Sandra Veldtman”. He rebuilt the Fraeylemaborg into its present shape.

The Thomassen à Thuessink van der Hoop van Slochteren family lived until 1972 in the house. It was sold to the “Gerrit van Houten Stichting”. Nowadays is the Fraeylemaborg a museum, with an interior that illustrates how people lived in a luxury house. The interior consists of precious antiques and everyday personal objects and the collection includes works by the Dutch painter Gerrit van Houten (1866-1934). The museum is combined with a wide range of cultural events and temporary exhibitions.
