L'histoire d'Espalion, liée au Chemin de Compostelle (via Podiensis depuis le Puy-en-Velay) permet de comprendre l'importance des édifices religieux dans cette petite cité.
A noter que le Chemin est toujours pratiqué via le GR65.

Instead of shooting the classic, postcard view from Trocadéro, I tried to capture the geometric power of the Eiffel Tower from a less common perspective. This view transforms the familiar image into an imposing architectural crown.Choosing a high-contrast black-and-white style puts the focus entirely on the texture of the iron latticework against the dramatic flare of the afternoon sun.

If you look closely through the center base arch, you can see the distant silhouette of the Tour Montparnasse perfectly framed in the background.

Fun fact: intestingly, the grand, sweeping arches that frame this shot were actually a late addition. They were added purely for aesthetics to reassure the 1889 public of the tower's stability, rather than for structural support!

I came across this iconic red double-decker bus sitting quietly in a deserted winter parking lot right next to an industrial zone in Bratislava. Seeing one of these out here is incredibly rare — it seems someone likely purchased a wreck of this vintage machine to restore it to its former glory.

This isn't just any ordinary red bus; it's a genuine AEC Routemaster. Originally designed by London Transport and built by the Associated Equipment Company (AEC), these front-engined legends saw production from their first prototypes in 1954 until the final deliveries in 1968.

To capture this moody winter scene, I shot it using a modified large-format lens adapted to my Nikon DSLR. The foreground branches add a nice layer of isolation to this stranded British classic.

The Galeries Lafayette rooftop terrace is the ultimate proof that you don't need to pay a single euro to get a million-dollar view of Paris — you just have to pay with your patience instead.

As you ascend through the department store, you are treated to a masterclass in Art Nouveau architecture. The building is an absolute stunner, anchored by a century-old stained-glass dome that makes you feel like you've stepped back into the Belle Époque. But the moment you step out onto the 7th floor, reality hits. You won't be finding any quiet, hidden romance here. Instead, you will find yourself in a sea of hundreds of tourists, all aggressively jockeying for the exact same selfie in front of the Eiffel Tower. There is absolutely nothing unique or exclusive about it; it is a beautifully packaged tourist trap.

And yet, it is still incredibly nice. Because the building sits at the exact historic height of the surrounding Haussmann architecture, you aren't staring down at the city from a detached skyscraper. You are right there among the iconic zinc rooftops, close enough to practically touch the ornate dome of the Opéra Garnier.

Is it crowded? Absolutely. Is it a cliché? Completely. But when you are standing there looking out over the Parisian horizon without having spent a dime, it is simply rewarding.

For me, these photos are simply about walking through Palma and noticing the quieter, less obvious parts of the city. The narrow streets, old buildings, balconies and changing light give the old town a very particular atmosphere.

If you have never been to Palma, you might also miss how different it looks beyond these streets. There are the obvious sights — the cathedral, the sea, the harbour, the larger squares and the more open parts of the city — but you don't really see any of that here.

You also can't really see how warm it is, hear the sounds of people and the streets, or realise how close you are to the sea. And behind many of these façades there are courtyards, homes and everyday life that you don't see from the street.

I think that's what I like about these streets — they don't necessarily look spectacular at first, but when you're actually walking through them, you keep discovering little details.

En tant qu'amoureux du métro parisien, je voulais pour ce WPD rendre hommage à la lignée de photographes évoqués par cet ouvrage : Doisneau, Brassaï, Cartier-Bresson, Klein, Capa, Depardon, et nombre d'autres photographes étrangers.
Je ne prétends pas m'y associer mais souhaitais juste retrouver un peu de leur poésie, et témoigner à ma façon de la magie de l'architecture historique du métro parisien qu'ils ont si personnellement et joliment célébrée.
Une "communion", donc, avec différents artistes à travers l'un de leur point d'intéret commun.
Mais aussi une bouffée de nostalgie vis-à-vis de mon ancienne vie parisienne où les arts et l'histoire nourrissait mon quotidien.

Beim Verlassen des Münsters St. Georg in Dinkelsbühl hat man einen wunderschönen Durchblick durch das spätgotische Portal auf die farbenprächtigen Häuser des umliegenden Marktplatzes. In der Kirche selbst finden regelmäßig kostenfreie Orgelkonzerte statt.

As you leave St George’s Cathedral in Dinkelsbühl, you are treated to a wonderful view through the late-Gothic portal of the colourful houses surrounding the market square. Free organ concerts are held regularly inside the cathedral itself.

Überall im Zentrum von Hitzacker sieht man solche Markierungen, die zeigen, wie hoch das letzte oder vorletzte oder vorvorletzte Hochwasser hier stand. Jedes Haus hat hier Schäden erlitten.

In 2026 herrscht aber wieder mal das andere Extrem : Niedrigwasser. So tief, dass keine Schiffe mehr fahren können, nicht mal die kleine Fähre für Radl und Fußgänger.

Man kann sagen : Hitzacker ist ein Hotspot der Klimakrise, die durch häufigere Extreme gekennzeichnet ist. Die Leute hier haben die Gefahr schon begriffen. Dementsprechend ist die Stimmung vor der Kommunalwahl. Plakate der notorischen Klimaleugner muss man hier nicht ertragen, die machen keinen Stich hier.

Interessant auch die Berechnung der Kosten : die notdürftige Bewältigung der Klimakrise kostet volkswirtschaftlich gesehen deutlich mehr als ein vernünftiges Gegensteuern kosten würde.

Auf dem Dach des ehemaligen Karstadt-Sporthauses (eröffnet Nov. 1999) befand sich einst eine Rollschuhbahn.
Nach der Schließung im Okt. 2020 wurde das Gebäude nach längerem Leerstand von 2022 bis April 2025 als kreatives Zwischennutzungsprojekt namens Jupiter betrieben. Ende April 2025 war aber auch damit Schluss:
