Driving up on the N1 to the Du Toitskloof Pass (820 metres, 2,690 ft) in the Hawequas Mountains east of Capetown heading north eventually to Kimberley.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
This road is now the regional route R101 since the opening of the Huguenot Tunnel on the N1 in 1988.&lt;/div&gt;</description>

The FarRail tour in 2019 saw Derick du Toit, owner of the Ceres Rail Company, reach agreement for the locomotive to haul a train consisting mainly of wagons loaded with cement plus several vans giving a total weight of around 690 tons. Whilst it has since hauled a number of passenger services it does not normally get a chance to haul freight. The FarRail tour saw Derick du Toit, owner of the Ceres Rail Company, reach agreement for the locomotive to haul a train consisting mainly of wagons loaded with cement plus several vans giving a total weight of around 690 tons. It is seen here a reaching the 1212ft summit at Mowers, 14 miles east of Worcester on the former New Cape Central Railway on a run to Ashton.&lt;/div&gt;</description>

Entlang der Küste liegen hunderte von Schiffswracks in Ufernähe und am Strand davon Zeugnis ab. Die Schiffbrüchigen, die sich noch von den an der Küste zerschellten oder gestrandeten Wracks hatten retten können, hatten in der unbesiedelten, extrem trockenen Küstenwüste keine Überlebenschance und verdursteten. Der Name bezieht sich daher sowohl auf die Schiffs-„Skelette“, die echten Skelette der Gestrandeten, aber auch auf die zahlreichen Gerippe von an Land gespülten Walen.&lt;/div&gt;</description>
