Seen from above like this it gives a very good idea of the amazing number of pagodas scattered around the Bagan plain.&lt;/div&gt;</description>

It processed lead, silver, zinc and copper from the Bawdwin mines but has been out of use for some time. These pots were used for smelting zinc. It was suggested that the smelter would reopen in 2012 but I have not heard anything of this since my visit.&lt;/div&gt;</description>

He is considered the founder of modern-day Myanmar.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The Bogyoke Aung San Museum was the residence of Aung San and his family just before his assassination in July 1947. His better-known daughter Aung San Suu Kyi grew up here as a child.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
This is part of a beautiful circular wooden fence around a shady verandah overlooking the garden.&lt;br /&gt;

Die 1,2 Kilometer lange Brücke wurde um 1850 erbaut und gilt als älteste und längste Teakholz-Brücke der Welt. Der Beginn des Baus fällt in die Zeit, als die Hauptstadt des Königreichs Ava nach Amarapura verlegt wurde. Zum Bau der Brücke wurde Holz aus dem ehemaligen Königspalast in Inwa verwendet. Über 1.086 Pfähle wurden in den Seegrund gerammt; einige wurden inzwischen durch Betonpfeiler ersetzt [Quelle: Wikipedia]. Immer wieder kommt es zu Hochwasser, bei dem Teile der Brücke weggerissen werden.&lt;br /&gt;

Auf der vier bis fünf Meter hohen U-Bein Brücke herrscht ein reges Treiben. The winding house contains two electric winders manufactured at the Siemens Works of English Electric at Stafford in the UK in 1925. The ore is trammed out of the mine via a two mile adit known as "Tiger Tunnel".&lt;/div&gt;</description>
