The different divisions of Newars had different historical developments before their arrival in the Kathmandu valley. The common identity of Newar was only formed after their arrival in the valley. Until the unification of Nepal, with the possible exception of the Muslims under Gayasuddin who attacked and destroyed many parts of the valley, all people who had inhabited the valley at any point of time were either Newar or were progenitors of Newar. A Balinese altar, often called a pelunggih, is a sacred platform or structure used for offerings and rituals in Balinese Hinduism. It is a central component of Balinese temples and shrines, as well as homes and workplaces. These altars serve to honor deities and ancestors. Offerings are placed on them daily to express gratitude and seek blessings.

Every temple has a founding day in the pawukon calendar, and every 210 days, the temple's birthday is celebrated. These temple birthdays, called odalan, are important events in the Balinese calendar.

Rita Deliana in the dress she got as my present to her 25th Happy Birthday.

It shows her with the Kebaya bluse, the Sarong and the Selendang fabric bow in the same pattern as the Sarong.

The traditional clothing for women in Bali consists of a sarong, which is a skirt made of a piece of fabric, a kebaya, a mostly transparent blouse with a top underneath, and a fine fabric scarf called a selendang, which is tied around the blouse at the top of the skirt. There are many different patterns, mostly made of cotton or silk.

This tradition is held eight days after Kuningan Day, specifically on Radite (Sunday) Pon Wuku Medangsia according to the Balinese calendar system.
