Well I started here in October 2013, it's been a great journey, but sadly has now come to an end. Thanks to all here for making it a special place, and in particular to Wendi, Chris and Fraggle for doing such a splendid job of running it.

The only thing I still have in memory of my father is this bird book. I remember going for walks with him and him talking about nature. He died when I was 12 years old.

Our father took us kids for a long holiday to the south of France, exploring new areas, different climate, vegetation, food, language.
I remember the long ride and the tiny space each of us had in the car. Camping. Crickets. Swimming in the river amongst fish, snakes and lizzards. Black and green olives. French fries. Traut. Times, long, long ago .....

Not easy to define, interested in so many things, maybe books. I borrow them all from the library through internet. I just took a picture of the books beside my bed at the moment.

JPs contribution was an extra challenge for me this week.
This image was taken long ago in Ronda Spain.
It is special to me while I was managing vet at a bull station for many years.
My strong advice: never turn your back on a bull when you wear red!

Lago di Fiastra

Der Lago di Fiastra ist ein Stausee in der Provinz Macerata in der italienischen Region Marken. Es wurde 1955 gebaut. Der Fiastrone fließt von Süden in den Stausee und verlässt den Stausee im nordöstlichen Teil des Sees. Der See befindet sich im Monti Sibillini National Park. (WiKi)

There was a fun competition for the best dressed house in the village. This one sported loyalties to the Queen and also to England and Wales. The photographer is a Scot, so almost the full house for the UK. The PiP is a photo from the one and only street party in the village..
