Monday 26 February 2001 (approx. 1355) – Stagecoach Red and White 763 (M763 LAX) seen departing Cardiff bus station on service X38 to Bargoed.

It is an Alexander PS bodied Volvo B10M-55 new in May 1995, a type operated by many Stagecoach Group subsidiaries in the 1990s.

The Welsh flags fly on the building behind which carries Cardiff’s bi-lingual name.

Thursday 9 April 2026 (0759) – Stagecoach East Midlands 24195 (FX10 AEF) passing The Black Bull pub in Main Street, Blidworth when working the 0645 service 141 from Nottingham to Sutton-in-Ashfield.

It is an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro300 bodied MAN 18.240 that was new in March 2010. Having spent most of its life based in Hull it now works from Mansfield garage.

In the 1920s Blidworth expanded as a coal mining community on lower ground. The original village stands on a hilltop where The Old School House, a private residence for many years, and the Parish Church, which dates from the 15th century are located. It is reputed to be the burial place of Will Scarlet, a prominent member of Robin Hood’s Merry Men.

Wednesday 8 April 2026 (1115) – A quick shot from the passenger seat of my daughter’s car of Stagecoach East Midlands 36117 (FX10 AEZ) as it turned from the A60 (Nottingham Road) to join Sherwood Way East when working Mansfield town service 240 to Berry Hill.

It is an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro300 bodied Dart new in March 2010.

Wednesday 8 April 2026 (0858) – Stagecoach East Midlands 24195 (FX10 AEF) passing the Bird in Hand pub in Main Street, Blidworth when working the 0745 service 141 from Nottingham to Sutton-in-Ashfield.

It is an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro300 bodied MAN 18.240 that was new in March 2010. Having spent most of its life based in Hull it now works from Mansfield garage.

The bus had climbed Ravenshead to the crest of the hill in the background. In the 1920s Blidworth expanded as a coal mining community on lower ground but the original village stands on this hilltop. The tower of the Parish Church (just visible above the roof of the building on the left) dates from the 15th century and is reputed to be the burial place of Will Scarlet, a prominent member of Robin Hood’s Merry Men. The Old School House, a private residence for many years, stands behind the camera. Further down the Main Street are early cottages now interspersed with more modern dwellings.

Despite wearing the Tiger branding for the franchised services under the control of The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority (CPCA) this bus was working Stagecoach East’s own cross city Kings Hedges to Cherry Hinton service 1.

(Stagecoach East 86022 (BV23 NTD), an MCV bodied Volvo BZL electric double decker new in April 20230 is behind).

Friday 27 February 2026 (1110) – Stagecoach East 10802 (SN66 WAA) wears a livery representing that once employed by Cambus Limited prior to takeover by the Stagecoach Group (December 1995). Cambus, originally a National Bus Company subsidiary, was created in September 1984 and privatised in December 1986 when acquired by the company management. The livery layout and colours marks the anniversary and heritage.

10802 was seen at Addenbrooke’s Hospital bus station when working the 1050 service 7 from Cambridge to Saffron Walden.

It is an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro400D MMC that was new in December 2016 and wore the grey Park and Ride livery. However, before reaching Cambridge it was one of a number of buses temporarily assigned to Stagecoach Merseyside (Glenvale) to provide increased capacity during railway engineering works on the Merseyrail Wirral line.

Paused, I believe for a driver changeover, when working the 1000 service T3 from Grantchester to Fulbourn (Ida Darwin Hospital) via Great Shelford, Babraham Road Park & Ride, Addenbrooke’s Hospital and Cherry Hinton.

It was seen in Newmarket departing on Tiger service T4 to Addenbrookes Hospital via Burwell, Reach, Swaffham Prior, Bottisham and Fulbourn.
