Das Foto zeigt das ehemalige "Rotgerberhaus" in Saarburg (Rheinland-Pfalz). Hier wurden früher Rinderhäute gegerbt, um Leder zu gewinnen.
Das Haus ist ein verputztes Fachwerkhaus aus dem 17. Jh. mit spitzem Giebel. Heute wird das Gebäude als Café, Bistro und Wohnhaus genutzt.

A fence in my back garden. Credit to my wife who did all the work planting and growing the plants. I just took the photograph. The perfume in the evenings, especially from the jasmin, is lovely. Happy Friday and weekend!

*Ochse = ein Ochse ist ein männliches kastriertes Rind. Schon vor der Geschlechtsreife wir das männliche Kalb kastriert und so zum Ochsen. Dieses Verfahren setzen unsere Vorfahren schon seit 4000 v. Chr. in Mitteleuropa um. Ursprünglich diente der Ochse nämlich als Arbeitskraft. Die Kastration schenkt ihm ein deutlich friedlicheres Wesen, so dass er sich als kräftiger Helfer der Landwirtschaft zum Beispiel vor den Karren spannen ließ

*Färse = Die Kalbin oder auch Färse genannt, ist ein zuchtreifes weibliches Rind, das jedoch noch nicht gekalbt hat. Mit circa 18 Monaten ist die Kalbin soweit entwickelt, dass sie trächtig werden darf. Nach der Trächtigkeit und dem Kalben nennt sie sich voller Stolz Kuh.

*Jungrind = weibliches Jungtier im Alter von etwa fünf bis zwölf Monaten. Bis zum 7. Monat trägt das Kalb diesen Namen. Dann wird es zum Jungrind bis es ein Jahr alt ist. In dieser Übergangsphase setzt auch die Geschlechtsreife ein.

The station concourse was closed due to staffing problems, but it was possible to get onto the platforms, using a side gate, in order to catch a train. I don't know how one bought a ticket - presumably on the train.

Sint-Elisabeth Begijnhof (Saint Elizabeth Beguinage) was founded in 1238 by Countess Joanna of Constantinople. The site largely retains its medieval structure with 41 pocket-sized, whitewashed, 17th century houses around a central green courtyard. The gothic St. Matthew’s Chapel dates back to 1464 and was rebuilt in baroque style in the 18th century.

A beguinage is a community of laywomen known as “beguines”. Beguines were devout women who lived a religious and contemplative life without taking formal vows, allowing them to maintain personal property and freedom.

The Begijnhof Kortrijk, along with other Flemish beguinages, is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The beguinage has an intimate atmosphere and is an oasis of calm in the middle of Kortrijk's city centre.

Just beyond the palace gateway (PiP) we come to the main features of this most wonderful place.
Here we have the grand entrance into the main forecourt and grounds of this 800 year Auckland Castle serving as the Bishops Palace.
You see the 1790’s symmetrical screen wall featuring decorative corner turrets, crenulations, and pointed arched gateways with iron gates.
See second PiP for a view through the fence.
