(For the week of December15 - December 21, 2025)
This is one of 12 photographs I bought at a second hand store in Bristol, Vt about a year ago. The owner purchased them from a house sale in Weybridge - about 15 miles from here. (Bristol).
Some of them have random comments written on them, one of which tells me that the youngest girl is named Claudia.
Think I’ll put these in an new album. I’m tempted to take these over to the Weybridge Town Clerk to see if anyone can tell me more about this family!

This is my friend Cheryl, someone who loves music more deeply than most people I know. I've known her since I was ten, but only became close friends with her in high school. In our early 20s we moved to Vermont together - and our lives were absolutely full of singing and music
She has worked at Yale and other universities for many years as a grant overseer, but about six or so years ago, she got a spot volunteering at a radio station with her own show (she chooses all the music, unlike most stations now). Such a great show.
This was the job she was always meant to have.
I love this picture of her, blissed out by her Christmans present, and foreshadowing her lifetime love of music.

A Vintage Photos Theme Park photo for the theme of holiday happenings -- any kind of end-of-year holiday gathering, celebration, or decoration.

Gold is the color of the day in this holiday scene that includes a gold Christmas tree, a gold sculpture on the wall, and gold wrapping paper and bows on the some of the presents. Even the carpet has a yellowish-almost-golden hue.

There's no date on the photo. What do you think -- 1960s?

I chose televisions for the Vintage Photos Theme Park theme of pick your own theme about things—objects, artifacts, or items.

A young boy, who's wearing a robe over pajamas, is playing a toy guitar as he sits on an ottoman. There's a television set on the table behind him, and the walls are covered with the type of knotty pine paneling that was popular in the 1940s and 1950s.

The boy's pajamas and all the Christmas decorations -- a poinsettia on the fireplace, ornaments in a glass bowl on top of the TV, and some more ornaments on the table that's partially visible on the right -- make me wonder if the boy has just received the guitar as a present on Christmas morning.

Brought forward this time for the Vintage Photos Theme Park theme: CHRISTMAS IN JULY.
My mother said (when I laughed my head off at the tree in this picture) that they were impressed there WAS a tree!
(In 1955, this was still post-war Britain in many ways.)

Two little girls in their holiday dresses with triple layers of Christmas cards behind them.
I still love to send and receive cards - especially photo ones!
I purchased this card in Bristol - November '23. The dealer told me it came from an estate sale in nearby Weybridge, Vermont.
I wrote down the girls' names - but can't find what I did with the paper. I'll post when I find it.
The little one is Claudia - still can't find the older one's name.

A Christmas photo of a girl, who is smiling and seems happy, and her doll, who is rigid and tense -- and seems a little scary!

Before you cautiously back up and quietly exit the house, take note of the metallic Christmas tree, the granny square afghan on the chair, and the girl's striped shirt and Santa pin.

Our darling American baby, born in June (6/6/66) so she's 6 months old here.
She has one of those spinny type butterfly balls - endlessly fascinating - and I also see a set of toy keys near her hand.

Two girls and a man pose for a photo next to a remarkably tall Santa Claus. This real photo postcard has a "Devolite Peerless" stamp box on the other side, and it's likely that it dates to the 1950s.
