I am not entirely sure why this shot was taken. It could have been accidental, although it was taken at a fairly sensible angle. I don't think that I would have bothered to caption it, had the bus' information panel not shown that the next stop would be Selfridges - one of London's major department stores.

These three photos from the charity Bus Running Day have been chosen for the Theme of the Week group as they have a bit more connection to either the event's purpose - the Ukrainian Appeal - or to me.*
This was the first bus to transport passengers from Seaford to Lewes as part of the Ukrainian Appeal Bus Running Day on 3.4.2022. It used to be part of the London Transport bus fleet. It is showing the destination of Dulwich Plough (a public house in south London). That is one of the routes that passed close by our home when we lived in London. So it was a good omen for an enjoyable event.
This one may have missed the group's Sunday evening deadline. As I uploaded a set of photos for a previous 'Theme' during the evening on a Sunday, I am constantly left with finding that I do not have spaces for the three permitted contributions and have to remove earlier contributions, so I will not add anything this week! This will enable me to make contributions earlier in following weeks!

I don't know what this stranger was doing pulled up outside our railway station. I think that the trains were running, but it could have been used for a rail replacement bus service. I haven't seen this Go Ahead London livery before and looking online this may be the only vehicle with it. I believe that there is a requirement for buses working primarily in London to have red as a large proportion of their colour scheme.

The great projecting 'ski slopes' carry a huge array of solar panels, powering the lighting and other facilities in this bus station. It is at an important transport intersection, with main roads to Victoria and Westminster to the north and the south of London the other way, crossing a main east - west route, running along the river Thames. There is an Underground railway station on the Victoria line and the mainline station serves trains on the route from the Southwest of England into nearby Waterloo station.

The Routemasters were the principal London bus design for many decades. A few have been retained to operate a couple of 'heritage' routes in central London. As their access is not suitable for people with mobility problems, the route has suitable modern buses as well.
