To showcase Scotland in ways pleasing to the eye. Scotland has mountains, rivers, lochs, wildlife, fish, cities, villages and some wonderful architecture too. Some iconic views such as are recognisable pretty much anywhere in the world too. Some of less so, some more. You decide. If you have a shot - or shots - that to your mind illustrate a feature of Scotland that others would find attractive, join the group and include your pictures. If you have lots of pictures, go ahead and include them - BUT don't post lots of nearly identical pictures please? If I notice this I'll remove the ones I feel add the least to the group's variety. To start things off, I will put in a whole bunch of stuff from my own collection, but expect to remove some of them as (if?) the numbers of pictures grows. Come in, and be welcome. Ian

Well Court Hall in Dean Village at the Water of Leith:

The Well Court, located in the heart of Edinburgh’s historic Dean Village, was commissioned in the 1880s by Sir John Findlay, owner of the Scotsman newspaper. It was designed as social housing for local workers, and included a communal hall, a large courtyard and small but comfortable flats.
Well Court is a rare example of an arts and crafts building in Edinburgh and is recognised as one of the best examples of the work of Sydney Mitchell, an important Scottish architect of the time. The building improved the area and took account of earlier traditional buildings in the area.
A verse of the poem,The Railway Bridge of the Silvery Tay, by William McGonagall , Scotland's worst poet maybe. The poem is etched along the espalnade between Dundee 'Discovery Point' and the rail bridge.
The Tay Bridge Centenary was in June 1987. I should perhaps first point out that this was the anniversary of the opening of the second Tay Bridge, which still survives today and not its predecessor, which dramatically collapsed some eight years earlier.

The viaduct is in good condition, having been renovated between 1992 and 1995. To the east of the viaduct is the Drygrange Old Bridge, dating from 1776, on which I was standing to take this photo. It is no longer used by traffic and has been superseded by a newer road bridge.
