With a population of over 70,000, Kalamata is the capital and main port of of Messenia. Today Kalamata is known as the home of the Kalamata olives and Kalamata olive oil.

Kalamata occupies the site of an ancient city, probably that of ancient Pharae, a city already mentioned by Homer.
In medieval times, Kalamata is first mentioned in the 10th-century and got following the Fourth Crusade was conquered by Frankish feudal lords William of Champlitte and Geoffrey of Villehardouin in 1205. Kalamata remained in Frankish hands until , coming under the control of the Byzantine Despotate of the Morea in 1428.

Kalamata was occupied by the Ottomans in 1481. In 1659, during the war between Ottomans and Venetians over Crete, the Venetians captured Kalamata. The town and its castle were plundered and destroyed, and all able-bodied men were carried off to serve as rowers in the Venetian galleys.
The Ottomans reoccupied Kalamata in the war of 1715 and controlled it until the Greek War of Independence, when Kalamata was the first city to be liberated as the Greeks rose in the War of Independence in 1821.

The Archaeological Museum of Messenia, built on the site of the city's old market hall, antiquities from Messenia from prehistoric and Mycenaean times to the Byzantine and Latin eras

Das absolute Hauptheiligtum und der weltweite Wallfahrtsort ist das Heiligtum von Lourdes in Südwestfrankreich.
Darüber hinaus gibt es weltweit unzählige Kirchen, Kapellen und Grotten, die als "Santuario Beata Vergine di Lourdes" (Heiligtum der seligen Jungfrau von Lourdes) benannt sind.
Allein in Italien gibt es Dutzende solcher historischer Heiligtümer und Nachbildungen der Erscheinungsgrotta.
Die Bekanntesten davon in deiner Nähe sind:Santuario della Madonna di Lourdes (Verona): Ein prominentes Heiligtum auf dem Hügel Belvedere in Italien, das einen weiten Blick über die Stadt bietet.
Santuario della Beata Vergine di Lourdes in Montericco (Albinea): Die erste Kirche in Italien, die 1899 der Madonna von Lourdes geweiht wurde.
Santuario Nostra Signora di Lourdes (Turin): Ein von Maristenpatres geführtes Heiligtum mit einer Nachbildung der Massabielle-Grotte.
Santuario Grotta di Nostra Signora di Lourdes (Forno di Coazze): Ein bekannter Wallfahrtsort mit großem Außenbereich und Szenen aus dem Leben von Bernadette.

Il santuario principale in assoluto e luogo di pellegrinaggio mondiale è il Santuario di Lourdes, nel sud-ovest della Francia.
Inoltre, ci sono innumerevoli chiese, cappelle e grotte in tutto il mondo denominate "Santuario Beata Vergine di Lourdes" (Santuario della Beata Vergine di Lourdes).
Solo in Italia ci sono dozzine di questi santuari storici e repliche della Grotta delle Apparizioni.

Es ist nicht ganz geglückt, aber es schwierig ohne Stativ und nur mit dem Handy in der einen Hand zu fotografieren. Die Spiegel in der Ausstellung "Michelangelo Pistoletto" durften natürlich auch nicht berührt werden!! Auch war die Anordnung der Spiegel hier anders.

Deutschland hat rein rechnerisch mit dem heutigen Tag bereits die natürlichen Ressourcen aufgebraucht, die für das ganze Jahr reichen müssten.

Wenn wir enkeltauglich leben wollen, müssen wir unseren Lebensstil, unser Konsumieren und Produzieren anpassen an die Möglichkeiten der Natur - aber wir leben weit über unsere Verhältnisse. Ab heute leben wir auf Pump bis Sylvester, die Schulden werden unsere Kinder und Enkel zahlen müssen.
