This was pure trial.

The circles that showed up had to GO.

Standard QHY masks.

3Rd party filter masks all over the filter seat and hole this is the filters out so I could paint the interior, the small circles went as unlike the supplied masks they covered the whole of the hole no lights leaks down the side of the filters and a new interior paint job that reflected no light.

First show just how bright the inside of the filter wheel really is. I was told get some Musou Black and paint the two inside parts of the case.

A nights trial no small circles any where in the RGB stars or the Oii NB filter. But there remained a big circle in the middle. Musou Black Its an unearthly black to look at as it absorbs 98% of the light so no reflections

I raked my brain where is there a large circle. I could only find one just inside the top of the scope there is a 40mm Black plastic ring for the cover to sit on over the time it has got highly polished. Reflecting the light for the street lights or the moon down to the mirror. Only answer is Flock it a velvet like paper that is self adhesive.

I did each night remove the previous nights stacked files so I could see the result of the new work that was done. The end result was every one of the circles where no more. I cant wait till the 16th of this month I have till the 23 rd to shoot LRGB MOON free and see once and for all can I finally do a clean coloured photo from filters. Has all this work paid off the RGB shot it did showed no marks the stars in this shot showed no marks so it all looks very promising. stay tuned! This was A lot of thinking, a lot of clouds from the cyclone and the rain I brought the scope inside.

My last shot just before The moon was about to start showing at 1:20 am. The sky was Inky black and stars shone so well in the night sky. If you look closely at the bottom of the left hand end you can see the moon starting to have an effect.

You can pick the fact the moon is about to rise the colour in the sky give's it away. Just below left hand end you can see the moon starting to rise the other bright light is made up of town ship and far right mining night lights.1:30am ish in the morning.

David took his drone so was able to capture this very different view of the Landscape we would not normally see.

I have cropped the shot.

This was a trial weekend with my brand new Night lens Samyang XP F2.4 14mm.

This was the main reason for the trip to light the cave area and have the milky way above. Easy you would think, we both had our lights so it was try each to see what would work and give us the result. This is 5 tries to light the cave area and get a pleasing result. This kind of shows how the magic of the first shot took place. I set up on the edge of the pit to get the whole of the milky way in the shot.

This is a shot made up of 8 Vertical shots. Sadly the light died on us not long after this shot so there was no second chance and trying any thing else. I like this shot my shot of the weekend.

Was it worth it, you seeing the shot we had in our minds and it all the work, you bet perfectly. it was a long drive over the weekend 1000Km in total and two night sleeping on the ground in the bush.

The biggest bug was the moon not ideal but it was there the whole night so it was blow it up or just go with it. This shot and others in the night show up the shower of meteors that was happening.

The closest part next to the city I can go to to test out the new lens. The panorama worked out not so bad as the photos get cropped when they join each other. A lot of detail from the Samyang 14mm F2.4 AE lens. Next trial will be D600 as I did not think to take it with me.

This is a summer bow far left you have Perth far right there is Southern Cross and Carina area, you cant miss Orion in the very center sitting as the Pot.
