Das imposante Kirchenfenster von Elisabeth Coester mit 80 unterschiedlich großen Fensterfeldern wurde 1939 für die damals bestehende Kirche St. Nikolai am Hopfenmarkt fertiggestellt. Da Deutschland sich jedoch zu dieser Zeit bereits im Krieg befand, wurde das Fenster nicht mehr eingebaut und entging so der Zerstörung. Im Neubau in Harvestehude fand das Fenster einige Jahre später in der hohen und eigens hierfür vorgesehenen Eingangshalle seinen Platz. Das Fenster zeigt in szenischen Motiven Bilder aus der Johannesoffenbarung, angeordnet in drei übereinander gezeigten Ebenen.

It is the headquarter of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSEd) and it houses the museum, the library and the archive of the RCSEd. The museum dates from 1699 when the incorporation announced that they were making a collection of "natural and artificial curiosities".
The present Surgeons' Hall was designed by William Henry Playfair and completed in 1832.

Die deutschlandweit erste Hörspielkirche lädt im Sommer nach Federow ein. Die bereits im 13. Jahrhundert gegründete Dorfkirche stand lange Zeit ungenutzt, bis die außergewöhnliche Idee sie vor dem drohenden Verfall rettete. Besucher können auf den schlichten Holzbänken Platz nehmen und zuhören. Am Nachmittag läuft das Kinderprogramm, abends gibt es Hörspiele für Erwachsene. Darüber hinaus stehen Lesungen auf dem Programm.

Dieses hübsche Farbenspiel entdeckte ich am Nebeneingang der Agios Minas (Sankt Minas) Kathedrale in Heraklion (Kreta). Diese Kathedrale zählt zu den größten in Griechenland und fasst ca. 8000 Gläubige. Ein Bild vom Innenraum habe ich schon früher gezeigt ( www.ipernity.com/doc/cammino/53145830 )

I discovered this beautiful play of colours at the side entrance of Agios Minas (Saint Minas) Cathedral in Heraklion (Crete). This cathedral is one of the largest in Greece and can accommodate around 8,000 worshippers. I have already shown a photo of the interior ( www.ipernity.com/doc/cammino/53145830 ).

Der mittägliche Schattenwurf an der Fensterlaibung ist für mich der Grund für diese Veröffentlichung.

Ansonsten bietet diese spätgotische Wallfahrtskirche die üblichen Kunstgegenstände.
