The fire looked a long way away but it was two streets away in a pocket of bush next to the road. Thankfully in a very short space of time it was under control. I got my wife to check on family in the area but it was closer to us than them when we where able to drive the area.

Thankfully this one did not get out of control not like some that have already happened in Australia and WA.

Firemen wearing breathing apparatus attempting to enter the neighbouring house (which was also unoccupied) to check for damage and to see if the fire had spread. They eventually had to remove the door to gain access.

At Prof. Egas Miniz Avenue, Almada.
A major branch of this tree fell down to the sidewalk, with no damage on persons or property. The fire brigade was busy cutting the remains in the safest way, for further removal.

Heavy vehicle recovery crane 6.500 (ΠΣ-3112) of the 6th Fire Station of Athens. This is an IVECO/Astra HD 7-8445 procurred in 2004 with a towing capacity of 30 t It is equiped with a HEILA HRL90000 crane and an EMPL EH/N200 vehicle lifting mechanism.

Es ist enorm, was die Hilfkräfte angesichts tagelang anhaltender massiver Schneefälle leisten. So dass Räumen ungestürzter Bäume oder wie hier aus Sicherheitsgründen die Befreiung eines Kindergartendaches von der heftigen Schneelast. Dankeschön dafür.

Our local patrol fire engine A56 (ΠΣ-3148) attending a fatal domestic fire at 53 Tenedoy street in Kypseli, which resulted in the death of a woman, on September 3rd, 2014.

This small fire engine is a Mercedes-Benz Vario 815D with a capacity of 1000 lit. of water. The Greek Fire Service often deploys type A fire engines to patrol in urban sectors away from fire stations, so they can arrive quickly at the site of a fire.

Zum Hintergrund: in Frutillar ist man stolz auf den deutschen Hintergrund, der seit der Besiedlung in der Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts besteht.
