Looking down to the lobby of the uniquely designed (in 1973) wedge and triangular-shaped Hyatt Regency San Francisco with the intriguing “Eclipse” sculpture. It was encouraging to see the ‘in your face’ Pride symbolism in the lobby, challenging the national administration’s increasing anti-LGBTQ agenda. Note the design on the heart is the most contemporary Progress Pride flag, which extends the meaning of the traditional Rainbow flag to empasize support for transgender and people of color.

Quite a surprise, at least to me. Considering the reputation of hooliganism at football games in the UK, and considering that standing just in front of me below that sign was a group of male fans with the sorts of 'stand your ground' posture that makes many of us gays feel threatened, I was startled to see a gay affirmative ad from the Premier (football) League on a very central monitor in the train station. Due to being in a fairly dark area, this didn't come out well in terms of colors, but the lion's head is in rainbow colors -- and there is the 'Stonewall' reference on the sign. Well worth reading is the Premier League's strong and very positive campaign (see the link below) about making both the fields and the stands a comfortable place for LGBT players and fans.

Samstag Abend, kurz vor Beginn des ESC, traf im ersten deutschen Fernsehen ein Transvestit (Olivia Jones - „Miss Drag Queen Of The World“) auf eine Pastorin (Annette Behnken) und half ihr beim "Wort zum Sonntag". Eine Premiere in mehrfacher Beziehung und spannender als die meisten Auftritte, die dann beim ESC folgten.

Before the start of the ESC in German Public Television (ARD) the pastor (Annette Behnken) that usually preaches the "Word on Sunday" on saturday nights invited a transvestite (Olivia Jones - „Miss Drag Queen Of The World“) as her co-host, very unusual. Much more innovative than most ESC-songs, according to my impression.
