I found this Easter photo in a “free” box on the counter of a store in New Hampshire.
The little boy has a book of Humpty Dumpty and a baseball mitt in his Easter basket, and is happily holding a couple of golf clubs.
The beaming girls both have some sort of early Beatles merchandise in their baskets - which helps date the photograph to c.1964.

Found just yesterday in Essex Junction, Vermont at an antique emporium.
I will be adding this and others I just found to my sadly neglected Groups, this one obviously, VINTAGE STAIRSTEP PHOTOS..
There is some badly faded and damaged pencil writing on the back of this cut RPPC - but I think it’s questioning whether to include the whole group or to just crop the two in front. If that’s it, it fits with the arrow and arc notation on the front.
Anyway, it’s a fun group of kids enjoying their posing and I think it fits the theme pretty well.

Here's my interpretation - a bit tongue in cheek:
Goofy, willing but squinty, belligerent, haughty, pleasant but guarded, smug, affable.

Here's a few vintage photographs for my sadly neglected groups.
This is a twofer!
It qualifies for the Vintage Stairstep Group and Vintage Miserable Family Group.
Found in Ferrisburgh, Vermont, this is a RPPC with the AZO marks indicating a date between 1904 and 1918.

Grandpa Rudolph (Rudy) Grossenbach, Great-Aunt Johanna (Kate), Great- Uncle Paul (Pete). The photo of the woman on the wall is of their mother who had recently died. Their father married her sister, Christina, and they had a fourth child, Helen, who was an infant when this photo was taken. A picture of their father, Charles, is on the small table.

Four Men at Devil's Den, Gettysburg, Pa.

Three out of four men display their patterned footwear in this socks (striped, Argyll, tights, fishnets, men's/women's garters) photo for the Vintage Photos Theme Park. For some other pertinent previously posted pictures, see my slides of Yellow Socks Guy (also known as Pipe-Smoking Man).

This is a real photo postcard showing four men posing for a souvenir picture at Devil's Den, which is an outcropping of massive granite boulders located on the Gettysburg Battlefield, a U.S. Civil War site in Adams County, Pennsylvania.

The man who's barely visible at bottom left is probably peering down to take a look at a small pool of water produced by a spring underneath the boulder.

An interesting find from the Warrensburg, NY town wide sales, 10/3/14
Not only sideways , but very unusually cropped in a diagonal! I've don't think I've seen one like it before. (Wrong - actually Elinor posted one in this group earlier, which I had commented on. Whoops! Well, apart from that one...)
I'd say this is 1900 - 1905-ish.
The imprint says:

My dad (R) and his sibs, Doris (c), and Richard (L). Submitted to the VPTP as popular photo not previously seen here. This is popular because it is posted in Deborah's Vintage Stairstep Photos group. I like it especially because I can see some similar faces among my grandchildren. One of my favorite found pictures. I got this in a second hand shop in Highams Park, London in 1974. Brought forward (late) for the Vintage Photos Theme Park theme of "favorite photos."
Even though this is an English family (I assume) it always reminded me of the American Jewish family from the Lower East Side in the children's book All-of -a -Kind Family by Sydney Taylor - a book I loved as a kid.
