Die Prachtscharte (Liatris spicata), genauer Ährige Prachtscharte genannt, ist eine Pflanzenart in der Familie der Korbblütler (Asteraceae). Sie stammt aus Nordamerika. Ihre Sorten werden in den gemäßigten Gebieten der Welt als Zierpflanzen in Parks und Gärten angepflanzt und als Schnittblume verwendet. Sobald die Staude blüht, wird sie von vielen Bienen, Hummeln und Schmetterlingen besucht.

Bei so frisch erblühten Passionsblumen ist diese "Quelle" sehr gefragt und es kommt oft zu Auseinandersetzungen wie hier zwischen diesen zwei 'Dickschädeln' oder wie beim oberen linken PicinPic...

Beim Fotografieren der Blüte eines Schmuckkörbchens (Cosmos bipinnatus) in meinem Garten lief mir plötzlich das im Bild zu sehende Insekt ins Bild. Unklar blieb bis zu einer Bestimmung, ob es sich um eine Wespe oder Honigbiene handelt. Sehr wahrscheinlich ist es aber eine Wildbiene und zwar die Gelbbindige Furchenbiene (Halictus scabiosae).
Außerordentlich interessant ist das Nestbauverhalten: "Begattete Weibchen überwintern gemeinschaftlich in ihrem Geburtsnest und formen ... Gemeinschaften im folgenden Frühling (nicht vor Ende April). Eins der Weibchen übernimmt die Rolle der Eierlegerin, während die anderen Weibchen zu Hilfsweibchen werden. Der Nesteingang wird vom Hauptweibchen bewacht." Entnommen aus:

So kann man sich die Entstehung der Völker der staatenbildenden Insekten erklären.

Nur nebenbei: Wildbienen spielen eine enorme Bedeutung bei dr Bestäubung auch unserer Kulturpflanzen und verdienen einen besonderen Schutz!

While photographing the blossom of a garden cosmos (cosmos bipinnatus) in my garden, the insect in the picture suddenly ran into my picture. It remained unclear until it was determined whether it was a wasp or a honey bee. However, it is very likely a wild bee, specifically the yellow-banded furrow bee (Halictus scabiosae).
The nest-building behavior is extremely interesting: "Mated females overwinter collectively in their natal nest and form ... communities the following spring (not before the end of April). One of the females assumes the role of egg-layer, while the other females become auxiliaries. The nest entrance becomes guarded by the chief female." Taken from:

This is how one can explain the origin of the colonies of the colony-forming insects.

By the way: Wild bees play an enormous role in pollinating our cultivated plants and deserve special protection!

Die Mistbiene, Schlammbiene oder Scheinbienen-Keilfleckschwebfliege auch Drohnenfliege (Eristalis tenax) ist eine häufige und auffällige Schwebfliegenart.
Die Mistbiene ist weltweit verbreitet. Sie ist vor allem in ländlichen Gebieten, in denen es Entwicklungsmöglichkeiten für ihre Larven gibt, recht häufig. Wegen ihres oft massenhaften Auftretens in der Nähe von Misthaufen hat sie auch ihren Namen bekommen.
