Die Statue: Die Skulptur eines Soldaten („Der Heimkehrer“) wurde im Jahr 1955 von dem Bildhauer Karl Heinz Engelin geschaffen. Bedeutung: Das Denkmal erinnert an die Gefallenen, Kriegsopfer und Heimkehrer der Weltkriege und soll den Frieden mahnen.

Instead of shooting the classic, postcard view from Trocadéro, I tried to capture the geometric power of the Eiffel Tower from a less common perspective. This view transforms the familiar image into an imposing architectural crown.Choosing a high-contrast black-and-white style puts the focus entirely on the texture of the iron latticework against the dramatic flare of the afternoon sun.

If you look closely through the center base arch, you can see the distant silhouette of the Tour Montparnasse perfectly framed in the background.

Fun fact: intestingly, the grand, sweeping arches that frame this shot were actually a late addition. They were added purely for aesthetics to reassure the 1889 public of the tower's stability, rather than for structural support!

The Mireuk Daebul at Bongeunsa — a 23 m stone Maitreya, the tallest stone statue in Korea, carved under Master Yeongam from 1986 to 1996 with donations from over 10,000 temple members and dedicated to Korean reunification. The temple itself dates to 794 and was the head temple of Korean Seon Buddhism from 1551 to 1936 — now sitting a few hundred metres from the COEX mall in Gangnam.

The "hat" is a stone canopy, descended from the honorific parasol held over rulers and holy figures — and it also keeps rain off the face.

Antoine de Saint-Exupéry und der kleine Prinz auf einer weißen Marmor-Säule. Auf der Säule sind Zitate aus dem Buch zu lesen. Das Denkmal liegt übrigens etwa vor der ehemaligen Wohnung des Autors in der 8 Place Bellecour, Lyon.
Lyon ist die Geburtsstadt von Saint Exupéry.
Der "Vater" vom kleinen Prinzen (Le Petit Prince), Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, wurde 1900 in Lyon geboren.
„Der kleine Prinz“ von Antoine de Saint-Exupéry wurde bisher in mehr als 600 verschiedene Sprachen und Dialekte übersetzt (laut der offiziellen Jean-Marc Probst Collection sogar in über 680) und ist somit nach der Bibel das am meisten übersetzte Buch der Welt.
Neben Weltsprachen existieren auch zahlreiche Übertragungen in Regionalsprachen, Dialekte sowie Blindenschrift.
